I cut 1 plant last week and it's been dried and in the jar curing...

  • Strain: Critical Light. It's 90% Indica genetics and 10% Sativa. High THC. Its parent strains Critical and Northern Lights#5
  • Only one Nutrient MSU 19-4-23 from day 1 until harvest (one nutrient for veggie and flower).
  • LED: Spider Farmer's
  • Soil - Sunshine #4
  • CO2 started on week 5 flowering ** Long story on my CO2. That is why this plant got CO2 starting at week 5 flowering.
  • I cut about a week earlier than scheduled. I am still battling with temp/humidity in my flowering tent. This is a new issue since I sealed the tent when I add CO2.
  • Last week, I found plants in flowering got heat stress. I didn't want to ruin the buds at the end of the flowering cycle, so I decided to cut it.
  • Total yield: 100g (3.5 oz).

  • before cut.jpgbud.jpginch.jpgweight.jpg

Thank you. My first grow was a cfl setup just to see if i could grow anything at all. Hell, i cant keep a normal houseplant alive. Suprised myself with 2.5 ounces after harvest and cure. Ive got this group dialed in pretty good so far.
How many watts of CFL are you running?

Hi, Good to talk again. Thank you! Like most project, nothing goes as plan, especially growing cannabis! I got introduced new nutrients (MSU 19-4-23) early on and the nutrient is too good, Grew so fast and so big, it creates another problem - space issue. Now I am seeking ideas on how to expand my grow tent size.

This is 4 weeks old (seed germinate on 5/21) and already has 9 fingers and size bigger than 8" all around and the bottom of the stem size is approx 2 inches in diameter! Creating a monster plant! I don't know whether to cry with joy or cry for fear that I can not handle these huge plants LOL9 finger leave.jpg

Cry with joy! You can always top. How big is your tent and how many plants do you have growing?

I have 2 area to grow.
The one is 8'(w) x 4' (L) x 7' (H) tent - growing flowering plants. The 2nd tent is 4'(w) x 2'(d) x 5'(h) - growing veggie and cloning/seeding, etc.
I have total 5 plants, but I am doing the perpetual growing, so I have 2-3 in veggie and 2-3 in flower (# of plants depends on when I harvest.

You should have plenty of room I would think. I suppose it depends on if you're doing autoflowers and if you are topping any.
I vegged my photos for 100ish days and they've been flowering for almost 30. I have plenty of height available. But I also topped. And this is also my first go. I got the soil messed up I think

Your plant looks good. Is that auto? I heard you shouldn't top the autoflowers.
No doubt autoflower will be easier than photoperiod. But I grow photoperiods.
I was concerned about not enough room between the light and top of the cola. And sure enough, I had to remove the top of the tent and move the light up to give some distance from the plants' top and the light.
My tent (larger one) for flowering is ok size. But I have AC and large oscillating fan takes a lot of room. I still thought 3 plants will be ok in there, but since I switch to new nutrients, the plant size doubled unexpectedly. After I harvest current plants in flower, I will be extending the grow space.
I hate not able to move things around freely. Feel suffocating when I work on plants.

Well ladies and gentlemen, I have a couple of new ones for you (well actually both of these girls are a little old). But they are in their final home in the new hoop house. 20200623_232352.jpg At the back-left is the best of my Illinois Green Cush plants. And in the foreground is my Dutch Passion's, Passion Fruit plant. The Passion Fruit is in 158.6 gallons of super soil with direct access to Mother Earth. The I.G. Cush (a regenerative reveg from the last run) is in a slightly, (and only slightly) smaller pot. I just finally got the Passion Fruit in less than an hour ago. So,,, just a few more pots to build now! Yay! SOOOOO EXCITED!!! Sooooooo tired.....
MORE TOOOOOO COMMMMMMEEE!!!

Here's a picture of the Passion Fruit lady awake. She seems to be liking life in her new home. View attachment 4604746
I can tell your plant loves that outdoor sun getting into the greenhouse.
If you haven't heard of "Schwazzing', look that up. It's a heavy defoliating tech and it does wonders as far as yield in the end. The Schwazzing tech, we defoliation at 1 week before flipping lights to 12/12 and 1 week after flipping light to 12/12. (2 times in the life cycle of the growth)

The schwazzing tech is developed by Joshua Haupt, but by Nebula Haze @Growweeds(dot)com explains in detail.
But you can see Josh's video on YouTube also.

Here is YouTube by one of many clips of 'schwazzing' by Joshua Haupt.
Here is the link - Nebula Haze.

Thank you eakeeper, for the thought. I have actually been using defoliation techniques like that for over twenty years now though. I have found that it can (with the right plants) work wonders for yield indoors. Outside it can (again plant dependent) help to remove leaves in certain situations at certain times too. But not at this point. For the most part, the sun does a great job of penetrating all the way through the canopy.

At this point, for these ladies, it's time for a rest from anything stressful. Then, in a couple of days i start bending and super cropping them outward with cages. I am going to help them get as tall and wide as can fit in there. Ten foot ceilings to work with and sixteen feet of width too. So these should be some of my largest plants to date.

I still have one more pot to dig out and then fill in today. Then I am done with the green house and on to a privacy fence and finishing the kitchen for my next projects.
I am also helping a friend that has a med card and no growing experience. We literally copied my flowering room except went vertical instead of horizontally for training. I'll have to ask them for permission to post the pictures even though I take care of them. But those are some beautiful plants that are just about to have their Second round of leaf removal and last round of bending, breaking and tying as they are two weeks into 12/12. Then they will be left to do their thing. These are on track to be the biggest and best indoor aplants I have ever grown.

Well done! What are you usin?g is that weed fabric? I'm just trying to figure out how you secured it as well.
Yes it is weed fabric. I chose the silvery grey to help reflect a little of the heat. It is held up by the outward pressure of the soil on the 2"x4" mesh fencing. I dig out a circular hole around a foot deep. Then at the outside of the circle I sink my spade in and wiggle it back and forth, 20200624_215501.jpgcutting the circumference. Then I roll out the fencing along the perimeter and overlap by three rectangles. Then I cut the fourth, leaving the tails on the piece I am keeping.20200624_215308.jpgTheses tails are then wrapped around the flush cut side to hold the loop.20200624_215423.jpg I cut the weed barrier fabric a little longer than the fence. At this point I put the fabric on the inside folding it over the top and bottom. Then sink them into the cut made with the spade. Next I dig a bit more in the middle of the circle and fill in the inside edge.
After that I start filling the pot. 20200624_153415.jpg20200624_115800.jpgWhen i have it full, I then dig out a spot for the new plant. Cut the plants pot (or just remove it if I can easily.20200624_121431.jpg . Put the plant in the hole, loosen the rootball and then cover it with the remaining soil. Finally, I water it in.

So, your grow area, It is enclosed, but the plant still can be viewed from outside if anyone comes into your yard, right?
In IL, can we still grow outside like your setup? Or do you need to ask for a permit from the village?
