There is nothing underside of leaves; over-did it with epsom and locked out my Calcium. I flushed the shit out of it and raked in pulverized calcitic lime. Thankfully they only have a few weeks to go they are already so freaking dense.

But I do keep finding these tiny red eggs look like chiggers but they are eggs???

And in retrospect I should never have given them epsom because I already had Dolomitic lime in soil , just me being a bone-head - shoulda had a V8 instead! Live and learn eh?
sounds like thrips. A lot of people dont know that thrips and aphids dont always look the same, they have several different stages, from small clear, to amber, to red, yellow, they transmogrify and present in many different colors and shapes., hey I have a question, you seem very knowledgeable, i have one plant thats getting yellow leaves.. you can kind of see it here, what do you think? Not bugs, maybe needs cal mag? its just this one plant.DSCN3137.JPGDSCN3137a.jpg

Did a little more defoliating. Trying to stick to only super big leafs blocking a lot of other bud sites, or areas where they are touching. I might have done a little too much, maybe not. Time will tell I guess, in the past I've never bothered with taking anything out except yellow or sick looking portions, but trying to be proactive against the mold in all ways I can. I'd really like to take these well into October.

I will look for thrips just in case, but my spots are more rust/brown than silvery from thrips? Your plants look great imo from what I can see; looks like normal fading of large fans. I’m truly no expert tho! I am a gardener, but this is my first real large foray into outdoor cannabis cultivation.

If I’ve learned anything, it’s that I want a greenhouse next season: these caterpillars have given me
PTSD.

UGH I know that’s what I need to do to my SFV but I want to her make it to 10 weeks so badly! Then I’ll aggressively trim out rot and wash in H2O2 bath.

love your tile floor btw, marble? Nice I
My plants are small enough that I can keep a pretty good eye on them - I'm not such a good gardener that I can grow 10' trees and keep them from harm. Plus I still have almost half of last year's crop in jars - so between climate and consumption, small works best for me LOL.

And yes the floor is marble tile. It's in my sunroom - where the plants actually get their start in life.

I took out a bunch of leaves yesterday too. Focused on those that were already starting to lighten up. I know the locals in Afghanistan and Pakistan where these hashplant seeds come from don't do this - they let the plants turn yellow in the fields and don't chop them down until winter - but they don't have to deal with foggy rainy coastal New England fall weather either. Adapt or die!

Yes our climate might be a tad more damp than the desert!! :p Glad to hear I'm not the only one thinin' things out.

So true, inland new England too, 90% humidity and two days of fog in the forecast, ugh

hey everyone! first time grow and was wondering when do you guys usually harvest. im in western ma. my indica started flowering like a week and a half to two weeks ago and sativas were a couple days to a week after that. some of my hairs on one of my little plants are turning orange, but just on the very top hairs. will the whole cola turn orange before i harvest? or is it just the top?

Yeah most strains all the hairs will turn orange, then once that happens you know the calyces have swollen. Harvesting comes down to preference after that point. Some strains may keep throwing new white hairs but Ive rarely had any, I usually wait longer than most, as I prefer a narcotic type high, which would normally be picked later.

Basically, keep her happy, and have the patience until all those white hairs have died back (orange) completely... Then, you can start checking when to harvest, But if you're in mass, and your sativas just started... you may have a hard time getting those to finish before the cold... I dont know your setup or specific location, but some sativas will go well into late oct-nov.. and depending on the weather, it may be game over for those. Strain selection is super important in mass, Im always trying to find early finishing mold resistant strains to run outdoors here.

Good luck, post a few pics and people here will be able to help you better.

I’m in mass and I’m seeing some pm any advice on what to do ? They are starting to swell so I need to act fast ! Thanks
Make a 0.5–2.0% solution (5–20 grams per liter) of potassium bicarbonate to water. Spray directly onto mildew infected plant tissue. Also you can organically use apple cider vineger or the ol milk mix, Ive never used it, but have heard it works.

Check out this link on powdery mildew and how to combat it

Best way to learn, keep that excitement and this plant will reward you in more ways than you know. Growing this plant literally saved my life... it sounds stupid and cliche but not even the medicinal effects of smoking or getting high anything.. Im talking about just caring about something other than nothing... when myself wasnt enough, and some reason to get up out of bed and go take care of something even if I wasnt taking care of myself.., I didnt see it at the time but in all seriousness, growing this plant and taking care of my dog is the only things I can see that were the reasons for where Im at today...theres a very good chance the road I was on turned to a dead end many miles back, so Im grateful to be here and owe it to my dog and growing marijuana.... Of course this wont be the same for everyone, but I really do love this plant...
its even gotten little assholes I know that would be smoking in the woods and littering and shit just being inconsiderate punks... they start growing, and fall in love with it, and now they're like hippies caring for nature, picking up trash with me if they see it on the ground... its crazy.. Sorry for the rant, I just really love this plant, and as I grow older I see the bigger influence and effects of the plant itself.. on culture, on people, nature, etc. and it doesnt compare to what I thought was the pinnacle of mother natures creation 20 something years ago when I first got high...and now that point was really just the beginning of my education.

Sorry again for the ramble... I think my point was... Welcome.. keep the excitement, and dont worry about the mistakes, they are all just learning opportunities, be grateful for the chance to experience them. Cheers :leaf: :joint: :peace:

I am also in Western Mass, let them go as long as you can, Im looking at probably mid to late October, but you may run into some rot issues before that. Dope scope the trikes on the calyx, not the bud, and when they are cloudy or just turning amber, time to chop. Luck.
