im in south Virginia and you don’t see it. So if anyone does have it its some old timer who doesn’t do internet stuff or some old timer who has old seed stock and don’t even know what they have. Tired once before asking some old heads and couldn’t find anything. Had a good lead to someone who supposedly used to grow a bunch of skunky bud back in the 90s that everyone said had the wild stuff but couldn’t never get a contact to get to meet them. Don’t wanna just show up randomly to there house but it might be worth it but i dont wanna freak people out. Might try and reach out again To the guy who knows the guy who knows the guy etc lol i told a few old head what they would have would be like a holy grail if its true to what it is but none of them seem to take it seriously and don’t really care to help reach out and maybe find it.

plus most people here don’t even keep up to date with strain stuff nor seem to care. most weed people buy don’t give names of what it is they only care about the high not if it has a name or if its sativa or indica its alot like the olden days here still i mean there is people who do keep up to date but alot don’t. You find alot of homegrown stuff that you can tell is some wack ass weed and nothing like anything new or in the last 10+ years but its nothing really skunky... anyhow hopefully one day it will come to light by someone somewhere.
this seems how most likely dank strains spread. most old heads when I say rollitup actually just roll one up...they could care less about the net.

Skunk has definitely reached this epic level of buried pirate treasure on here. Its definitely has a nostalgic affect on some of us over 35 yo, because we smelled it or think we did when we were young and first started smoking. I honestly think some of what we would consider "shitty" weed today, smelled like rks when I was younger. Part of this makes me think it was because the smell of burning weed was so new and strong to my burning, virgin nostrils, but I definitely smelled skunk back in the day.

Its also a matter of people popping alot of the beans that are close to the roadkill skunk lineage, Afghanis, cheese, etc. Like pop thousands of beans and somewill will find a skunk reeking pheno and keep it as a clone only or reverse, whatever. I myself though nostalgic for the rks smell, don't lose sleep over it, or think of it much at all. I don't have much interest in it really. I love modern era strains- gelatos and wed cakes, things like that. Sweet + fuel terpy goodness. Honestly in my decade plus of growing I definitely have had plants that had skunkish smell but not full on rks but you know what I mean. Its definitely there and most non-smokers associate the smell of burning bud with skunk anyways since its so strong and pungent. It would be nice to find a offensive, make you want to puke-rks weed one day.

There was a guy on here a while back can’t recall his name but he found a whole bunch of old school seeds in his fathers old fishing tackle in the back of his garage can’t remember what strains but remember reading it thinking you lucky dog ☮
Wasn't me but I actually have a couple hundred seeds from my father and a friend's father that range as far back as the late 60s, but prior to me they weren't stored well at all so no idea if anything will crack. I'm actually gearing up to start hunting through them later this winter. Still working on securing the stash first haha... don't wanna run out of bud while I'm screwing around with beans that may not crack or end up growing garbage weed

Thats awesome but good luck germinating them. 60 years old seeds, sheesh, there's probably dust inside the seeds if they weren't stored properly, lol. Would still be worth a try though dude. Also, don't worry about them being garbage weed, the fact there that old means you could find some really interesting phenos if you got them to germ. I don't know where you're from but if you're in US I would guess they are some kinda of Mex strain lineage, most likely- long flowering sativas, but who knows? you could get lucky and the be some cool Afghani indicas or some thai. At least thats what I'd hope for.

Yeah, I'm prepared for a lot of duds. And they aren't all that old. My old man wandered a lot, so the seeds come from every part of the country. He even lived in Colombia for a while before the cartels rose to power and brought seeds back from there. My mom brought some back from Afghanistan in the 70s too. My folks were interesting people. They never grew anything but still hoarded the seeds for some reason, which I'm now really thankful for. Like you said, expecting a lot of Central and South American stuff but hoping to stumble onto some crazy Thai or Afghani stuff, maybe an old hash plant even... no matter what, it should be a fun adventure

Absolutely banging. I just can never remember which it was, I think arjans 1 or 2.
Never tried the ultra.
To bad Arjan is a charlatan and a thief. Lots of those Dutch guys were showman and businessmen who took advantage of the Cali dudes fleeing harsh drug laws and sentences and heading to Netherlands in the 60s-80s with all their knowledge of growing cannabis. I firmly believe Dutch took what they learned about cannabis grow world(seeds, strains, breeding, clones, grow equip.etc.) from the Cali/Americans and evolved it into a legitimate multi-million dollar business by the 80s and 90s. Got to hand it to the Dutch, they are known as very savvy and highly productive at business.

strain hunters while interesting to watch makes me cringe, yes they are risking alot to get landrace but for how much cost. seems they rip off those poor farms for genetic wins they aren't aware they have

franco is the man

For sure Arjan and greenhouse seed co had legit stuff back in the 90s especially when Shanti was still working there. Arjan screwed Shanti over for sure, Shanti without a doubt was the master breeder of greenhouse seed co. If you're looking for some kicks older/oldschool hazes I would order from Mr Nice, who is owned by Shantibaba. Shanti is a true breeder in every sense of the word. Also I had a buddy who grew some greenhouse seed co strains years back and it all was pretty trash, just bland flowers the smelt like hay even when cured properly, only one that did well and had a great yield was critical kush from ghs, and I would even run that strain these days, not exotic enough for myself and my patients.
