With all due respect, what you speak of in terms of nutrient uptake and breeding is a form of selection and is a form of breeding, even landrace selections. Make no mistake, we understand plant science and agriculture in this country and salt based nutrition in and of itself is not a danger to plant chromosomes.

Exactly I think it has nothing to do with "chemical based farming" whatever that is. Some dude doing a home grow in his basement using bottled nutes with a npk ratio that works for each stage of growth is not a wrong way to grow. These nutes are salts in a bottle, minerals. Older growers know what's up when it comes to the nutrient market and the hype, snake oil myths out there-that also includes the whole organic market...they are all bullshit. All that is needed is proper macro/micro nutes. I've seen recently the organic nute market definitely kind of comes after non- organic bottle nutes which makes no sense to me, they just prey on ignorant people who know nothing about plant science. I use both organic and what some would consider non-organic bottle nutes, basically just a base nute, I grow in soil. I can tell you and a few on here can vouch for me, my grows blow away any of my buddies that are so called fully organic, super soil/just tea additives growers. I do not use bloom boosters, also do not and never have used a pgr product. I keep it real simple, a simple base nute and a few additives. Sorry I need to cut down on post length, I'm staring to write chapters up in here, lol.

Its about money vs pride
Good enough vs great
Newbies who think current strains are better

I will take 5 great landrace strains -- and let you pick them, or randomly select vs anything on the market today

Money overtakes pride = hermies
Good enough vs great = not stabilized
Newbies think they know = perpetuating the problem

I agree 100% that some great cuts have been identified. That is the positive of the last 40 years.

But even getting a completely stabilized version of those cuts, or a quality clone is very hard.

Because Cotton Candy Sherbert Sundae Tangie Platinum Punch sounds so fing good to a newbie, it is irresistible and they buy that over finding that perfect blueberry cut. Which by the sound of the name...cant possibly be as good.

I can 100% believe that hemp will kill outdoor grows completely. Like a computer virus, how long until some lunatics grow male plants in the wild just to make more money by messing up other grows? I am sure this is already being done.

What you get out of a land race, is true breeding selection, that can be done with modern strains too. There’s some bottlenecking that’s occurring in the top of the gene pool, but that can be undone as well. Introducing Landrace genetics into the current gene pool helps do that, provided true f2 selections are made for the correct providential parents. Observing that a breeder is employing selective pressure.

You can find great phenos in modern strain seed packs, but they are over crossed-unstable hybrids. Most, if not all are not tested and still fetch upwards of $200 for 10 seeds(a pack)...15 years ago the results you get with some of the new strains today would be unthinkable and the breeder would have a very bad rep. Now it just how it is, and makes you the man, a pimp, with cash on instagram. No worries about those herms, as long as you finder that golden keeper, o and sorry I seeded up your whole bloom room with my sneaky herm genes seed pack, lol.

Ya but how many people are doing that colo? It would be awesome if more breeders were introducing landraces, but we all know the seed game is a complete hype train $$$ grab. Most of them don't have 2 months, never mind years to be working strains and their stability.

That the biggest bullshit claim....I have proof- I've run plants seed plants from a new pack and cuts in a perfect environment/sealed room...perfect co2 ppm levels, nice airflow hitting the plants, ideal temps with the help of a wifi controlled mini split the I can adjust temps and air flow thru my phone(ahhh the wonder of technology)....clones did awesome and came put absolutely fire, as always... seed pack plants, though few came out great, had like 3 or 4 herm plants. Seen this happen multiple times to multiple fellow friends that are growers.

however I do like these cotton candy cookies yum thats my avatar , got sucked into the hype
O don't get me wrong, I fucking love modern strains, that's all I'm running at the moment....got a cut of jokerz(white runtz x jet fuel gelato) I can't wait to run. Just finished peanut butter breath, garlic breath, and a bunch of others recently. That said people and newer growers need to to do there research when picking out strains to grow and limit their expectations. Also good genetics will only get you so far, you still have to grow the plant and have a dialed in environment which I believe is the most important part.
