My cloning is.... bad. I’m maybe 1/4. And I’ve tried many times. More than 4....

How do I get roots like this off a clone? I’ve never used root gel just the Walmart rooting hormone powder with iffy success.

Dip your cutting last in Great White before inserting in the rapid rooter. Keep moist but not soaked.

I just take the cutting and stick it in a moistened peat pellet, put it under a small lamp 24/7 and wait. Works great.

Well, obviously from that picture you have to use mammoth P. to get roots like that Lol

To take that step further make sure you put it in the right environment try and keep it above 80% relative humidity and around 80°F Environment is #1 IMO

Yeah, I sometimes use a dome, but then you have to remember to air it. If it's too cold they don't root. I once waited for over a month before realizing it's cold, moved them to a warmer place and had roots in a few days. This time I took cuttings on fourth week of flower. Didn't use a dome and 5/7 rooted in three weeks. I only needed two cuts so didn't wait for the rest.

^ I'm not saying my method is perfect. I'm saying I think people make cloning too hard. Yes, a heat mat would be great and there are many good devices for cloning, but it realky isn't that hard. If you need 100s of clones my method would suck, but for a few clones it's enough.

cut each cutting on an angle before dipping it in clonex. squeeze moisture out of jiffy pellet a bit too.

This is all I did this time after topping my plants.

I threw them in some coco and placed a clear soda bottle over the top of them.

no clonex, no rooting hormone etc.

Just cut them and planted them in coco and once they began to grow i removed the soda bottles.

these clones even finished rooting on 12/12 in those small pots and were then transplanted into larger (still small) pots to finish.




now they are well and truly into flower along with the rest of the plants.

Take some of that rooting hormone and mix in some water.. not much, and soak your cubes/moisten pellets with it. Best you can do with what you got just to try. I am trying the same.. I don't think I used enough in the water.

Post #5... keep it simple you can't go wrong
24c keep a bit humid 60% but don't spray or foliar feed, let them put roots down for a drink, with that simple method I'm confident enough to take only one clone for a mother plant, I can't remember it not working except through user error.

Most people try to hard with pampering them, try not to.

Ime the cuttings with the thickest stems seem to do best. I keep mine at 80/80 as well but I probably don't need to. I'm guilty of a lil pampering myself. Lol

Use tray and humidity dome
No powder or jell, straight into moist rockwell
Don't foliar spray
Little or no condensation on humidity dome
Vent Done if condensation is building
Just enough water to keep cubes hydrated.
Small amount of nutrients in water. GH 3 part 1/4 tsp per gallon works perfect.
Heating mat only if necessary on off 15 min. Intervals.
This is what works IMO, most everything roots, nice and healthy green, not beat up looking. Foliar spray doesn't work with HD.

I also like a good thick stem with a couple of weeks veg on it lol.

I reckon I can take 2 weeks off veg time with bigger clones, as opposed to a single shoot clone.

Yea, I don't understand, why not clone a branch? Does a whole branch not root as easy?

Easy.
Dome, tray, plugs , warmth(70-75f), time and don’t open the dome but once a day! And when you open spray the dome down and not the plants. Roots in 14-21 days sometimes as fast as 10 days

open up your vents slightly each day as roots start to form roots need oxygen

Could be the strain man not you. If it’s you then you just need more cuts under your scissors -

although there is some sound tips here mostly unnecessary
