Some people say don’t flush at all some say do?

The digestion by bacto doesn't necessarily make them more available, just "organic". Brew with the bacto then feed the brewed mix. Same great tasting pot as regular organics.

Ok, but do you need bacteria to grow with synthetic nutes? I grew in dwc with synthetic nutes, always added bleach to the res. Doesn't that kill off all bacteria? I'm not exactly sure of the process.

I germinate in hcl.....keeps my seeds clean...I flush twice when I poop....

If I've heard correctly, isn't the last couple weeks when they add bulk? If so, it wouldn't make sense to starve them.

how tf is it starving them by adding pure water when its low?? the ppm dont go to zero, its still got food in the very end. just not full strength.

No you don't need bacto with synthetics. But if you brew chem mix with bactos....

Flushing in living soil kills the soil food web. It's probably not a good idea.

I used to flush when I mixed nutes in 5 gallon buckets and hand watered. It was easy enough to flush the faster flowering plants while feeding the slower flowering plants separately. Then I changed my system and bought 30 gallon res, so instead of having two watering systems I just stopped flushing. That's when I realized that flushing was pointless if not counterproductive.

The only thing achieved by flushing would be rinsing out and clearing the medium of salts, if you want to reuse your coco say, just start aggressively flushing so it’s ready for seedlings or cuttings immediately after harvest. It’s a great time saver.
You can save yourself at least a few minutes!
The starving of your plants for days on end is just a little bonus
