Not everyone wants sleep weed. All strains are different. I have a super fast sour d/sensi star cross that has to be pulled before it starts getting many amber trichs.

Take it another week or two it loses smell, and the buzz isn't even a high it's just straight tired.

Even then an extra week or two in each cycle adds little to the product in terms of weight, and ends up costing you a full cycle every year.
Oh man that gave me a laugh. letting Them go that extra time adds a lot in terms of final weight, thc and terpenes

My cut I'm currently running for the past 3 years loses smell after 8 weeks, it also only gains about 5% more weight between weeks 6-7, and almost none between weeks 7-8. I've let it go as far as 11 weeks and ended up making extracts out of that plant because the flower sucked.

I've had zero complaints ever.

Most hybrid strains are completely done between 8-10 weeks. The trend of going super long to somehow make it "better" is crazy.
It's like people are trying to avoid "sativa" effects at all costs.

Sativa effects come from sativas period. rarely have i seen a plant done correctly and finish out in 8-10 weeks. I’d like to see your plants. I have lab testing that confirms it gets better.

I'm offering experience based on what I do for a living. Different points of view, backed up by experience or logic are welcome. But I guess everything is like Facebook now.
I’m a commercial grower with degrees in computer science and horticulture. Everything backed by lab results and end user feedback. If your stuff is losing smell perhaps you did it wrong…..

and how much of those 8 weeks were taken up with stretch? 7 days? 10 days? 14 days?

And as for the sativa comment.

If people want sativa effects then we grow a sativa.

if we want a comatosing indica effect then we grow an indica or indica leaning hybrid.

Personally I like to have a bong and feel fucked for a good 10-15mins.

I don’t like having a bong and then another and then another just to feel it.

These are day 71 of 12/12 you’d have chopped these 2 weeks ago!

It degrades after 56-60, 49 is the earliest it's been "ready".
It's not letting me post the pic. I kept getting an error. That's why I deleted the post.

I run sog flood tables, dwc trees, and a small high pressure aero setup. The sog setup is fastest. It's 4 rooted cuttings per square foot flipped almost straight out of the cloner. Being all small-medium colas, they finish quicker than the bigger plants that have to wait for lower bud sites to finish.

Everybody does it different. All I'm saying is you don't have to wait for all the trichs to turn amber to harvest. If it's done swelling, and 90% of pistils have either changed color, or disappeared into a swolen calyx, it's probably ready regardless of trich color. Unless you still have a preponderance of clear.

I’m building a 16 x 16 grow room. I already have an idea how I’m going to set the room up but would like some suggestions on what others think.

1. How much lights
2. What brand of lights
3. What size a/c
4. What size dehumidifier
5. Co2
6. And what’s the best automated temperature control
7. And last but not least what would be your goal yield in a room this size
1. 4 lights (using diy leds)
2. Diy
3. 24 000 btu will be way enough
4. Dehumidifier will depends on your biomass. My ladies are drinking A LOT. They use around 0.4 liters/hour each, so just to calculate 0.4 x nb of plants x 12 hours. Divide your dehu by the pints /24 and divide by 12 hours less a little bit since your ac will remove some moisture. I have 12.77 pints/plant capacity and still not enough to get what I would love to... :)
5. bottled. I already saw issues with burner. Weird leaves, weird growth, etc.
6. I love the Sensi thermostat, fully programmable.

7. 5376g.

To be more precise with the AC.

Calculate your total wattage, lights, fan, dehu, etc x 3.41 btu... Add 5000 btu for outdoor temp. I would say 24-30k btu should be fine. Going with air cooled ac, go with higher capacity. 30k btu should do it. You don't want it to be too efficient, it will help greatly at dehumidifying your room. Dehu are pricy if you want something reliable.

16 lights in a 16x16 is crazy. You need space to work around, space for dehu, a/c, water, etc.

4 lights really? What is this based on? Dehumidifier will depend on plant count and medium used. You figure 8 pints a plant at least plus outside humidity. Medium plays a big role in this as well. Ac will remove some but I can't keep up. For example new rooms I'm doing will have 12 tons of cooling but will run 2 quest 506's each. These aren't cheap ac units either in reality 15 tons as there are (3)5 ton york air handlers per room.

You don't use 12/12 light cycles?
I don't really want to derail this thread anymore but I use anywhere from 11.5 hours dark to 13.5 hours dark depending on strain, and where it's at in the cycle. With the longer nights (13+) hours it does become difficult to hit the daily light integral target.
