Gets seeds. Get a light and a tent. Then get dirt and some big containers. Make sure it’s good soil. Plant the seeds. I think 2 of them is a good start. Do that all and then check back for more.

Tell us your budget and space and ABOVE ALL ELSE, don't go out and buy a light because you're hyped to get started without doing your due diligence. Any light you are considering, ask here before you pull the trigger. Same with any other big ticket item. It will save you a lot of grief and get you started right. Read as much as possible here and double check to see if the information is still relevant. Tell us what your goals are and if you are interested in soil, coco, hydro, organic or not, and I can post some good links I've collected over the years.

READ the grow journals section

Find a successful grow within your budget / abilities and mimic it.
Along the way, you'll become a grower.

My first grow is in my sig, as is my latest. I got good smoke from them, so I guess I was successful... :bigjoint:

I'm in the middle of re-designing my room; so I'm studying journals that look like upgraded versions of mine and harvest weed that I want.
I'm asking questions that will help me grow my skills.

Your choice of light makes or breaks you. Decide what tent you’re going to use, and get a light that covers that space. Light by hlg are probably prime if cost is no factor. They can probably help you select the right one.

Get Seeds (I prefer to buy feminized seeds)
I am a huge fan of Kyle Kushman and his seeds over at homegrowncannabisco
Are you growing indoors or outdoors?
If indoors will you have a closet grow or do you have enough room for a 4x4 tent?
Tents can be bought off of amazon relatively cheap
I'm going to assume you are going to use a tent and you are doing a soil grow
Next you will need lights. I have 2 1000 watt LED grow lights in my 4x4 tent (about $70 each on Amazon)
Then i use a 6 inch inline fan with a carbon filter inside the tent then use duct work to run the air outside of a window. (you dont have to vent it outside it is just what i do to cut down on the heat in the grow room) this filter will also help keep the smell down
For soil i have tried a few but i have recently fell in love with VermiFire soil, you can get off amazon but i found it cheaper at a local hydroponics store
I put 4 plants in my 4x4 with 7 gallon fabric pots and use the scrog method to fill the tent. I am only allowed to legally grow 4 plants in my state at a time so using scrog method helps out my yields while staying within the law
You will also need a fan inside the tent to circulate air and condition the stem of the plants to be strong.
For someone new to nutrients and growing i would suggest buying a TechnaFlora recipe for success starter kit (This has all nutrients that a plant will need over the course of its life. (from seedling/clone to harvest)

I would suggest reading a few growing cannabis guides and watch videos on youtube, and ask any questions on RIU. There are some really experienced people hear with some great advice.

Enjoy the journey!
