You can get longer blumats that are designed for deeper pots (sorry if that was already mentioned). I've not seen any reviews from people who have used them, but I guess the obvious idea is to remove the need for multiple small blumats or drippers per pot.

Yeah I know that kind of situation, it sucks. Blumats need a relatively stable environment (rh and heat) as to not interfere too much with the pot moisture levels > flow rates. Timed drip systems don't have that sensitive type of limitation, although pump failures etc.
Thank you for that information

Yeah I’m gonna have to wait till I have some funds.

@goi think some people will use one big carrot and one small one in a really big pot(bigger that 5 gal) that way it will keep your hole pot at a good moisture level.
I've never done it cause I've only used 5 gal and smaller, should be ok with one small carrot in a 5 gallon

Weekly update.

Day 9 of flowering for the Power Plant.
Today i watered with some KNF inputs and silica. I want to make a few more FPJ with different fruits.

Still can't manage something in the tent with the COB.
For me it looks like some Ca def because it happens in upper leaves, they are somewhat blue and soft.
But the trick is to know what's "triggering" that symptom. Soil has good Ca amendments and i've used this recipe several times.
Plant on the right is starting to show those signs. Not yet on the little ones.
Maybe it's too much light as i was pointed out earlier on the thread. I lowered the fixture a little the last weeks, and sometimes it runs 24/0 because i don't have a timer on it, i shut it off by hand 4-6 hours a day but sometimes i don't.
They also sure have filled their new pots and need water more frequently.

Flower day 16.
Plant throwing pistils.

I believe i found a better mulching option to the alfalfa hey i was using. I bought, from a good source, composted horse bedding. That's the literal translation from Spanish, not sure how would you call it in different English speaking countries.

Secuence is malted barley, then a bocashi product i have, then bedding as mulch.

I also made a DIY fixture to use some 7-10W led bulbs i have around the house.

You're better of reading the forum rules and starting your own journal. A journal is for logging OP's work. You don't want a journal filled with other people's trash and plants. It's all about showing respect towards other people's work. Cheers!

I'm just letting him know it's not the regular deal. A lot of people's been turtled and banned because they're not following the forum rules and writing in others journals.

I've been turtled with exactly the same journal statements and rules, that's why I think it's important to mention it. I don't think it's very advicable or good practice to post a "book" in someone's journal IMO. But hey it's not my forum and journal. Cheers!

This is the next one on deck; Week 3 No monstering on this one; flipped straight 12/12

This one was just dropped in the bloom room a few days ago. You can see how “monstering” the plants starts them out. In a separate grow area she was gradually flipped to bloom over several weeks and then re-vegged for another three weeks...

Was planning to chop the skittlez but she started popping new white pistils only on the very tip of the colas. Imma give her a few more days. The other skittlez pheno is still weeks away; weird cuz they were started same day but this one crucified itself with long cola buds hanging down to the floor. Tied her all kinds of ways but I think she’s so low in the canopy it’s taking forever for the bud to ripen.
In other news I’ve got a fucking army of afghani clones finally rooted in the dirt. Just started another round of bare stems in the cloner; only took 6 days to get roots last run. No idea what strain these are but I know they are girls. 2 mama plants are getting too big to keep in the veg tent; imma clone the other one after this run is done and then both of these will join their sisters in the bloom room. Stay tuned y’all the best is yet to come....

Are those thrips?

Yes.. nothing gets by Padawan....forgot to mention we noticed visual thrip damage on that plant. There were a few other plants with the tell tale white splotches in the same tent. Thought it was gnats because we had some flooding issues recently which turned my basement into a goddam swamp. Dehumidifier is running 24/7 and getting emptied 4x daily. Running out of buckets...
Plants have been given two rounds of Monterey Garden Spray w/spinosad which should quell them. Had not been amending with neem seed meal for awhile as I ran out but another shipment just came in.

funny, the time i used blumats that's how my plants looked. i don't like blumats, too finicky
Yep they can be a hassle when the system gets clogged or the res runs dry. Definitely a learning curve and they are not a set it and forget it as I would like them to be. Still better than hand watering; it’s nice to kinda forget I even grow pot on the weekends. My hobby has become almost a part time job the rest of the time.

So two out of the three ripened plants are chopped; one is curing in the jar already and the other is still hanging so it is now time to recycle the root balls for another run. We had about a half a 60g tote bin full of soil left over from last time to use as a base. Then we dropped in 3 dry ass root balls: two 10g and one 5g from a clone that turned out to be male.
Btw always carefully label your shit ppl; I recently ended up with 5 male clones of which 4 were given to friends who were kinda pissed when they found out. Sorry bout that guys...
Anyway here’s how I recycle soil:
First we drop some old root balls and base soil into a bin
Hydrate as needed and then break it up real good with a rusty old shovel
Then we add at least one full tray of EWC from the worm bin; worms and all
Then it’s time for the amendments; I add about a handful.. about a cup + 1/2 of each:
Neem seed meal
Kelp meal
Insect frass
Blood meal
Fish bone meal
Crushed oyster shell flour
Then minerals in small quantity; 1/2 cup each:
Dolomite lime
Garden gypsum
Azomite

That’s it...then we just mix it up real good and let it set for 30 daze & then it’s good to go. Also add in any leftover compost tea and/or bottom “sludge” remnants from a recent aact brewing. If perlite is needed it is given copiously; breaks down faster than it seems possible.
