do i have the right lighting?

I just started growing and i bought some F20T12 fluorescents from walmart it says they promote plant growth but i keep seeing that am i doin everyone's using T5's am i using the right lghting and dos it matter?

if its some kinda aquarium lighting it will be fine. personally i would go for a hps/mh switchable ballast use the mh bulb for veg then switch to hps for flower

T12 is good for seedlings/veg, not strong enough to flower anything.

t5 is only a little brighter than t12. Its not great but it is ok. HPS is great.

those floro tube set ups at walmart work, i woulda recommended at least t8's rather than t 12 but they will get you started. my first grow was with a modified t8 from walmart, i stuck several more sockets on it for cfl's and it worked fine for me.

if your gonna use those plant n aquarium bulbs from wal mart, my advice would be to go pick up 4 more fixtures, and 8 more bulbs. Line your entire growroom cieling with all 5 fixtures, and put all the lightbars in that bitch. It still might not be enough to get yourself some FAT FAT nugs, but that would probably get you from seed to harvest successfully
