Plant in veg going from praying to drooping

As the title says, my plant (Mimosa X Orange Punch @ Barney's Farm) which is now going into it's 6th week, began to droop daily towards the end of the light cycle and I have no idea what could cause this.

It usuallly prays during the first 12hrs of light and begins drooping sometime after that. The climate usually stays pretty consistent and shouldn't be the cause. Maybe 1-3C and ~5% RH lower when drooping. Around 22,5C and 57 RH.

Whenever it droops, I have already watered it some time before (12-24hrs), and I use an airpot so I'm not sure if it may be an issue of overwatering.


I've done 3 runs before this grow and never had those issues. What I changed this time however is, that I swapped out my usual BioBizz Light Mix with Canna Bio Terra Plus. The nutes also stayed the same(organic slow release Pellets) but I have for the first time added about 50g of 1-10-1 bat guano within the soil during repotting about 2 weeks back.


The new leaves also seem to be twisting and folding themselves together so this might be an indicator, I just haven't found anything on the Internet about it.

I added a before and after picture about 16hrs apart.

You're watching them too much lol they're just getting ready for bed. And possibly if they're drooping by 12 hours of light it could be a sign of it being too much DLI for the plant.

Might be a little heavy feedings judging by the dark green?

I am indeed watching them with every chance I get haha.

I figured maybe it's too much light, I decreased it a bit and will check on it during the next light period.

While I stayed on the lower end of the amount of pellets, feeding might indeed a bit heavy, I had slightly yellowing leave tips 2 weeks ago and my stems are somewhat turning purple. Unfortunately I can't do anything about it since all nutes are in the soil. I only use tap water in veg.

Your plants look great, though when did you take the photo of the plants drooping?

Be aware that your plants will know when the lights are about to turn off, so you'll notice that they droop for maybe the first hour or two of lights on, and droop just before lights off, as they prepare for bed time.

I wouldn't say it's a light issue, don't back off on the light if you don't have to - they're very resilient plants, if it was light stress, you'd be getting other signs. The plant looks great, healthy, and happy.

I'd consider allowing the soil to dry back a bit, don't feed so much - if you have a substrate that doesn't have great aeration, then don't feed too much, as it'll hold too much water, not allowing oxygen to the roots. This basically suffocates the plant. You can tell if you've got too much water by lifting up the pot. If it's heavy, then you've got a lot of water being retained.

Don't over think it, and don't jump to try and resolve an issue that isn't there. Just re-think your process, and I'm sure you'll figure out what it is in no time.

The picture of them praying was about 30-60mins after lights turned on. The picture of them drooping was during the last 2ish hours of the light cycle so I assume they are indeed just getting ready to sleep.
