You have to be genetically in tune before you spend money on seeds....
You want killer genetics ...not just random pollen chucks.

I hunt genetics like a maniac
Hard to find genetics always hold there resale value...
The trick is keeping your seed stock in good long term condition...

It doesnt make sense to pay 250$ for seeds that will be no good in a 2 years

So, you save them in a mini freezer ...
That will preserve the germination rates

You will find all of the seed sites that carry JJs gear.

I use seedsherenow. Brown bag seeds. Highend. Great lakes seed co.

I really appreciate it. First off I’ve never even heard or thought of half Dwc and coco very interesting but baby steps first. Wheels are already in motion on these seeds but I’ll be giving top dawg a test forsure next batch. Do you do a mother plant with his seeds and clone yours for Dwc or what? Not tryna use up prime space for males ya know. I know big noob plz help. I’ve been googling and not seeing any regular seeds with dwc info. Or would it be better just to go back to coco for those seeds. I’d like to stay dwc but for the hunt for the best I’m open to whatever.

I have always grown DWC...
I start from seed an cull the males unless im making seeds..

I have grown mothers to cut clones from to fill buckets. I just dont always have the time to veg the mothers out to get enough clones...
I run 32 buckets with air stones so i need 32 cuts to do a run. I will dump a pack of seeds ...remove the males an take cuts off the females...
Then i will flower those females out...find my keeper an then veg that clone an dump the rest of them

If you dont like regular seeds...you will be limited to femz an clones. Males are a waste of time & space but if you snag a killer pack of seeds you may want to keep the male around for more seeds...

I just found out today...that i have a pack of seeds that are now selling for $500.
I got that pack of seeds for $30
I hunted those genetics...an bought them before they sold out...now that pack is worth $500.

Thats what i mean by you have to know your genetics...dont just buy a pack because it has a funky name or a phony picture

Would you say you’ve found what you like and you generally run the same strains repeatedly or still actively hunting and growing new stuff?

The only issue...seeds dont last forever
You have options though
S1 seeds are LIKE clones
Its easy to make them too.

You get a keeper that you like..
Get some STS...
Spray a clone off the keeper
It will turn male an make pollen.
Use the pollen on a 2nd clone
An then harvest the S1 seeds.
Test them out.... get rid of the mother

Breeding is a whole other thing
You need a end goal with breeding
I want to make Trippy plants
So I start with two trippy strains
I mix them an test all the seeds i made
I find that TRIPPY shit
Then i lock those traits down in seed form
I back test the seeds for issues
Then start pumping packs out to the people.
$60 - $450 dollars a seed pack...
If they fuckin with you...you will sell out quick.

It’s so tough bc how do you if anything anyone says is true without doing a full grow to test but even if you enjoy it it’s not truly what you think it is. Rough game to play but sounds like a lot of happy accidents of finding the right stuff. Who knows maybe one of these day when I start getting some mothers online I’ll try to buy some secret sauce seeds/clones off you. Try to support the local biz. With this next grow I’m getting a second 4x4 due to space. I’d love to get 2 4x8s but can’t yet. But I’ll run a nursery for seeds/clones and if I possibly put mother in there? Then I still have my 2 tent spaces. Just a thought for the future but not sure yet if mother plant needs top quality grow or just keep her healthy. But hearing you talk about the waves of strains I can tell I’ve missed so much history.

If i had 2- 4x8s...
I would use one for mothers & one for pheno hunting.

Mothers dont need 600w ...so i would fill the one tent with 'kind led X80"s'...about 4 of them
Thats 400w...@ 14 -18 hrs on

My other tent would be my AT600 an a Black Dog Led 1000. That would put my power use at 2000w+ ...but well under 3000w

Its 6 to 12 seeds per pack...i could start hunting mothers in 3 to 6 strains
It would take me a while to fill up a 4x8 ...so i could save on lights usage while i collect mothers

Thats 32 different clone mothers when im done

IF 12 run in my spot...the mothers are federally legal hemp an anything i got budding is all thc-a.
They going toss the book at me but i think i can beat the case...

You can do 2- 4x8s an not break the bank or have to wear them cuffs

Im not ocd but my moms is so I’ve always been super tidy and organized with my projects. I stress cleaning and resetting everything properly so I agree. Also responding to multiple messages in one but sadly not in a legal state so keeping small for now but I’d love to find a way to get a cert to grow no matter what state but I feel I’d have to make shit bud bc that’s what all the dispensaries are buying that garbage. You ego’d me abt my seeds and I ego regular people for smoking mid. I’ve had a good bit of tree from buddies that grow of ppl I know and it’s all mid not even close to growers choice. But I’ve learned my lesson and I’ll lock in with seeds from now on sensei. But as far as cloning not gonna be happening anytime soon but realistically in a year I could start getting into it. I know you’re againts fem seeds but since it’s fits my purpose better than cloning and finding real phenos, do you have any good direction to go for fems?

Bodhi Golden Triangle...4 hr high
By my 8th grow
Cannaventure triple nova
I was high for 6 hours off .2 grams of bud
I realize some weed was off the charts
Thats a 1/4 gram...

In all honesty that Asian fantasy gave 2 hrs of concentrated high then normal like eh I could go for a smoke again or I could chill. I would say I have avg tolerance for daily smoker. Just my opinion but you did not step on my toes at all. Just informing me. Forums were amazing for learning to grow. I have some weirdly specific problem and 3 people have an entire grow 3/5 years ago with solutions and what caused it. I appreciate everything. I know I haven’t gotten into the crazy shit. I feel I got lucky as far as white label but I’m gonna get into top dawg and North Atlantic seed co caught my eye after your suggestions.
