Kinda hard to tell mate, especialy without seeing them straight up.

Just go by this, indicia is generaly shorter fatter leaves, sativa is thinner longer.

But nowa days theres so much cross breeding going down mostly everything around isa a mixture of the two.

No, HPS as with all HID bulbs need a specialized ballast to run them. I don't even think they make a 400 watt HPS bulb with a standard mogul base, but I could be wrong.

if you dont have the proper ballast, you will start a fire, at least from what i have heard and it makes since cause if it wasnt true people wouldnt be shellin out tons of cash for ballasts. if your plant grows to be very tall very quickly it is most likely more sativa. if it grows short with a massive width it is more indica. you can generally tell which way they are leaning 1 - 2 months into it

Yes, but are they the standard size mogul base or the larger diameter ones for the HID ballasts? I'll bet they are the larger size to keep someone from screwing it into a regular socket and burning their house down.

A metal halide will provide more of your blue or white spectrum and a hps is going to provide more red and orange spectrum. Metal Halide for the vegging stage and hps for flower. They can both be used for flowering seperately but a mh will give a less dense flower, the hps will increase density levels by alot. I personally use both spectrums through out the whole grow for increased densitys and increased trichs. Hope this helps.

dude the mogul base would be ok.....if you buy a proper ballast..... if you dont you will most likely end up homeless...well actually the state would give you a nice home for a year or two in your local state penitentary because when they inspect the smoldering ash that was once your home they will find what caused the fire. be smart and please dont give us all a bad name by being dumb
