Day 38 already harvesting

I know it seems early. Just the bud on the very top of the main cola. They look more than ready and trichomes are cloudy and a couple amber here and there. I dont believe the rest will be ready for about 2-3 weeks. How do I go about this the best way? How do I cut off the top buds at the cola? Just a straight cut or at an angle (through the cola that is)...

if the trichs are still cloudy looking the bud is not ready! you are going to hate yourself for taking cuts too early! wait till 25% of your trichs are amber in color before you cut!

Ok. Thanks. Are bruised hairs going to effect the bud at all? Dont think so, but I have a lot of hairs already a dark brown looking ready to fall off almost... Probably from touching the herb I'd say..

Thanks, just FYI... This is my first grow so i got some figuring out to do on my own I guess. But im not in any rush, Id really prefer to wait a few more weeks and try to go for it all at once. But it just looks like the top buds are just "ready"...

Sounds good to me. So either way what do I do when some buds are ready to be cut and others arent... I know a lot of people do that to "check" the bud and what not, and then usually some bud is just ready before others. How do you cut whats "ready" and leave whats not is what I mean...

i usually just harvest all at once. but if you want, just cut off anywhere you want. i have heard of people cutting just the top 2/3 of the bud and the bottom 1/3 will continue to grow and swell.

looks healthy to me! I def say leave it to swell into a huge bud! And people do not harvest early to 'check' ... it takes too long to dry the bud before you could check

i had weed one time i was growin that looked killer for about 40 days. huge buds, some orange hairs.. smelled and looked dank as hell. i was so excited to cut it down, so i did. and i also left the 2 plants sittin next to it there, let them go to day 55 i think.

the bud i cut prematurely was good. smelled good, tasted good. i was impressed. i was smoking my own shit, and it got me pretty high too. but then later, when i harvested the other plants i was mad at myself. really upset because the plants i let go, just that extra couple weeks were not only much heavier and denser, but about twice if not three times as potent.

and one more thing.. they swell up the most in size.. those last couple weeks. take a picture today and compare it two weeks from today. they get much bigger. right now you should be flushing and then adding molasses to the last waterings. those carbs unsulphered molasses provide make a big difference, maybe 20%!!!

from now on i will only chop after 60 days. all the difference between havin really "bomb" stuff and your average commersh. with patience u will b rewarded.

Is it your Bubba Kush ....I just pulled mine after 5 weeks of bud...thats 5 weeks after the 12 day transfer period

Thanks everyone. You guys are right. Hairs must just be bruised from touching. Trichomes just arent ready yet, took a really good look tonight.

Let me just enlighten you amber trichomes will start to produce in the 2nd week of flowering. Im going to say that your plant is going to be very premature I dont flower anything sooner than 12 weeks and and especially 38 days thats crazy your probably going to sacrifice alot of weight and trichomes but I do hope everything goes good for you. I would wait till atleast 12 weeks to harvest you will be so much happier. PEACE.

I disagree. 12 week strains are typically the hazy, or more pure sativa strains, alot of landrace strains go 10-12 weeks. but the majority of every line you see out there from every seedbank listed on sites like the attitude, dr chronic, and elsewhere go 55-65ish days.

Yeah but 55-65 days isnt going to give me a RIPE bud. But hey 2 each is own. Im going to recommend damn near 12 weeks for a really ripe plant. Thats my story and Im sticking to it. My Ultra Haze 2 says that its a 10 week flowering and I flowered her for 16 weeks and now Im just starting to flush. Like I said this is up to you Harvest early and learn from your mistakes.

Thats funny So all strains have to flower for 12 weeks......you need to get a clue....There is no set time for plants to flower

Your time in flower depends on your STRAIN.....if you flower to long you degrigate the THC in the plant....you let the red hairs start fallin out thats too long

Bubba Kush only flowers for 6 mabey 7 weeks

I have this 1 strain I have been growing for 15 years..it only flowers for 7-8 weeks. and gives me a 8 oz yeild
