North Carolina outdoor 2009

I know that it's been talked about in this thread but I can't seem to find it now. What's the deal with all these plants flowering early this year? Are they going to go back into veg or continue flowering? About 10 of 20 plants of mine have just started flower. Not sure if it's just preflower or it's all out flowering.

Same thing is taking place here in Southern Oregon among growers I know. Same strain, everyone does about the same soil amendments, the only difference being the early flowering seems to be happening to early starters (Feb) with both seeds and clones but not all of their plants. No one can come up with a logical explanation but the affected plants haven't gone back to veg and there are going to be some disappointing yields.

Our last average frost date is 04-29 and most everyone has their seed germinated plants outside by the first or second week in May, clones usually no later than the last week in May, first week in June. No, it doesn't make any sense, there are some very bewildered people here.

And to the guy from oregon. Really? No one can figure it out? Why moving your plants outside in Feb (how do you even do that in Oregon?) might make them flower? None in your community of growers considered there being less than eleven hours of light outside a probable flowering trigger?

You're acting like there's some unexplained phenomenon that the top scientists in your region are scrambling to explain. You know they flower @ 12hrs because of millions of indoor grows. You know they flower due to a decreased photoperiod because of millions of outdoor grows. You didn't say if people were starting seeds or moving clones outside but either way you should be able to reason that they'd start to bud.

They were germinated/cloned in Feb/Mar and placed under lights through April, taken outdoors on warm days in April to harden them and taken out for good first part of May. Same routine that's been followed for years, medical and guerrilla growers.

Indoor light cycles were 24/0 for the first month, 14/10 until permanently taken outdoors in May, which has 15/9 at our latitude/longitude. None experienced 12/12 at any time. About 25% of the growers I know, all with years of outdoor growing experience, had the same thing happen, not to all plants, but some, both seed germinated and clones. Maybe your scientists can explain it.

That would do it, but I don't know anybody using 18/6 that planned to go in the ground outdoors after the last frost date.

So then what would cause my plants to do this? Any idea? I don't understand why some of them would start flowering and others would not, considering that these are clones from the mother and were grown under the exact same conditions.

2nd time grow for me. White Widow and Blueberry for now. Maybe AK47 later on.

There's no mystery. The change in light is the only thing that makes plants flower. You said:

Now you've cut the light by like four hours by taking them outside. Some of them recognized it as a decreasing photoperiod and some didn't.

Angus is right...outdoors 12/12 doesnt really have shit to do w/flowering...plants can easily become confused when moved outdoors...

I don't have the 47 yet, but a friend has had great results with it on hydro (I'm a dirt farmer so far). In fact, it was pretty awesome.

I didn't have a good shot of my Blueberry, so these two were WW.

I'm using a 400w HPS and cool tube.

I recently FIM'd my plants and they are now starting some new branches. They only had three nodes and is the earliest i have ever topped. Comments?

Yes, I'm planning on some butter soon. I stopped nutes tonight, water only for the next week. I'm going to let them sit in the dark for a couple of days so they sugar-up really nice.

Can't wait for these girls to do their magic with me !

I will attempt to get a decent picture of said pest but in the meantime can ANYONE give me any advice on how to either kill them or ward them off? Any info is greatly appreciated...
