Yeah I have used mixed mh and hps lights together before but never in a rotating schedule so we will see if it makes any difference.I have never seen a halogen used as they are as hot as fire and the usable light is very small on thses for the wattage so it doesnt really make it worth running them at those wattages when you can use lights with the fuller correct spectrum you need.

I have wondered about using them together. The light I originally wanted to get was an 800 dual specturm with an air cooled fan but it was also mega bucks. I now have a Sunmaster warm deluxe for all stages of grow and was gonna switch to the one just for flowering but can't afford the bulb.

If I can afford a better flowering bulb then I will do that and add my 100 watt MH along with the 1000 watt and 4 x 40 watts bulb specturm cool bulbs and rotate my plants often.

It is an interesting topic for sure.

slappyboy is my gopher and test child lol..yeah On a few aero grows I was just running 2 400 watt hps enhanced spectrum bulbs and 1 400 watt mh setup in between them all on 12/12 schedules.It did make the plants shorter and bushier for sure.Last aero grow I went 2 600 watt lights without co2 and got the stretch and add 2 weeks to harvest up from 5-7

Time for some updated pictures here.Ok these are pictures at 1 week of flowering under the 1000 watt hps and will start the alternating 1000 watt hps and the 3 hours of 1000 watt mh schedule.Im using nothing but Miracle Grow moisture control soil and ph 6.6-6.8 water with 200 ppm from the tap..The leaves may look a little droopy as out side temps are hovering around -25 to -30 f so keeping temps at this particular site are little rough. I concentrate heating the root zone and soil with my water proof heating blanket sandwhiched between 2 sheets of emergency blankets and 3 mil black plastic which heat the pots to a nice 68-72 F.I have been using a proopane tank with a heater burner on top to keep the temps up in the area and this also has been my co2 source so 2 for 1 this time.They will get a real good flush to remove build up and extra MG nutes then when they dry out will begin the tea mix od 1/8 strength peruvian high phos bat guano,sugar daddy to add some carbs and then 3 good waterings of Humbodlt county's gravity to tighten the bud sites and make the buds rock hard.I may add a dose of molasses for 1 more extra boost depending on how they look.You can see they stayed nice and short with the co2 boost and the fan leaves have filled in nicely and the stalks are thickening nicely with crystal formation starting on the stalks and baby bud sites..Anyways will post when something new worth posting comes around...

These came from a clone I got from abuddy who got it from his friend.Its original clone taken from the mother plant that was used to create the original bubble gum plant.Basically this is the female used to cross with the male that made the original bubblegum mother plant.Its been a clone only for last 15 years or so.I know only 7 others who have it and I think 2 of them lost thier mothers as I have been hearing they want me to return a clone to the groups mix but Im gonna see if I can get something else in trade as these old school guys have some unusal stuff from some original us breeders.I think I can even gets some chemdog og from one of the guys out east.

Yeah I concur those are some nice plants for sure....looks like you are a good dirt farmer too, takes some practice but these plants look awesome. Keep up the good work, are you sure theres no aero under that canopy? LOL

I did a soil grow as I was feeling nostalgic.Dont worry though I have an aero grow and a flood table grow going also lol...nope no aero table under there or we would hav ebig nugs formed already as slow as soil growing is

Ok got some new pictures to add.Nothing to exciting as dirt grows are...well slow as dirt lol.These are pictures of the plants at right at 21 days in flower.Still fighting cool dark times as the damn outside temps stuck between -30 and 20 above F so makes heating difficult.I have been using a propane tank and a portable convection heater on cycles as that little bitch uses 1500 watts and I hate to waste that much wattage and not have it over a nice grow lol.Anyways here they are little droopy as they just waking up from a cool night period.They have gotten thier first 2 waters for the flower cycle with the new batguano teaa mixed with Sugar daddy,nitrozyme phed at 6.8.In about 2-3 weeks depending how the bud sites look I will also add Humboldt countys Gravity to harden the sites.Useing a switch up of the 1000 watt hps and the 1000 watt mh bulbs with the hps getting about 8 hours of time and the mh getting 3 hours of time on so I do 4 hours hps on then 3 hours mh then finish with 4 hours hps.Its kind of a pain but I get bored lol.They get a good co2 dose from the propane tank heater daily which is keeping them nice and bushy.I cant image only growing soil crops at this slow rate its killing me as in my aero setup the buds would have been swelling real big by now but the soil planys are showing thier sites and do have larger stalks so maybe we can get more weight when done but I can see this goung 9-11 weeks which is just nuts.6-7 weeks is too long for me lol..Ill put the pics up and I have a little mpeg video showing them will see if i can post that never mind the sound on it as I had my hand cupped around the mic and it sounds like airplane noise..sorry cant load video and pictures are to big so will resize then edit post

started my second plant dec.19 and now its well, there's a pic as my display, but i like dirt and its less of a work out but i have only worked with dirt so i don't know. looks good and im inspired

Yeah i stopped dirt growing a few years back actaull almost 10 years ago and decided to do another one for old time sakes to see if I could do it..I do mostly aero and hydro as they are a lot easier and less work invovled and the cleanup and everything is just so much easier and fast. Soil is harder then hydro grows but it has its place in grow history
