wht do people say collect rain water to water the plants what is the upside to doing this
i use bottle water i get it for 25 cents a gallon

collecting rain water would save you 25 cents a gallon. i have 2 500 gallon totes that i catch rain water in to water my outside fruits, vegtables and whatever else needs watering.. water straight out of the tap won't kill your plants either.

Rain water is free it really is a no brainer.... even water out of your tap is going to cost, unless you are in an apartment. And the sewage treatment charge if you are on the city shitter getter.

Growers only choose to use rain water if their tap water has a HI ppm or they know their tap water contains nasty's.
The ppm and ph of rain water can vary massively from location to location so it is recommended you test both quantitys BEFORE using.
Test your tap water, then your bottled water and then rain water..... you may find that your tap water is the best...... you never know..... plus it'll save carrying in large amounts of water...... or may save you the cash spent on water that you have no need to buy.
because they believe their dumb ass rain dance worked, keep doing what your doing...
NOTHING like a pointless response.... try answering the guys question

I've never heard of tap water being better than rainwater.... Someone really needs to do a little research on water quality and the compounds allowed by the EPA into your municipal water system...

Rainwater, barring air pollution, is the purest form of water you can get. It is distilled by nature. It even picks up oxygen and positive ions while falling through the air...

How can ya even question rain water? LOL

Or just but an RO system. 7.0 PH with minute PPM's :D

thank u and are tap water havnt tested it we just get 5 galon jugs of water delivered to my front door for drinking water so i just use that i dnt have many plants so id doesnt take up alot of water, i was just wondering cause i have a friend of a friend that swears by collecting rain water, when it rains he will run around like a twacked out chicken with no head putting buckets all over the yard to collect,i will stay with my bottled water

if we already spend 100 to thoussands of dollars on a grow then whats the extra few bucks a month on water

it would have to rain a shit load to give me enough water, and it would have to rain every 2 days....plus the cost of the umbrella....damn gettin pricey

You underestimate the amount of water that runs off of your roof and property.... We have no problems maintaining rain barrels here in Florida, even during our sometimes weeks of no rain. It just depends on your ability to collect it. I know rain doesn't work for everyone convenience wise, but science wise, it is the shiaz... I'd rather water with rain water any day over man distilled or RO...
