Hey at leaste they are trying to define that gray area. The STATE needs to step up and do this.

Some of these provisions are already stated in the law, such as not within 1,000 ft of schools. Most of the rest are pretty much common sense. They are regulating it correctly though, they are not endorsing or denying the right to do or not to do; that is left up to us citizens own individual choice.

• Permits must be obtained for electrical wiring or other devices for growing and harvesting the marijuana.
Why single out medical marijuana? The same equip with different plants should be of equal concern.
• The total area of all buildings used for the home occupation, including storage of materials, supplies, etc., shall not exceed an amount that is equal to 15 percent of the floor area of the individual dwelling unit.
Lets muck things up more... Maybe you have an ideal space for use , but it's larger than 15% or the space that satisfies their ordinance is too small.Too big or too small, wouldn't leave much option other than build to fit.

Pay to play and once again, why should medical marijuana be treated different than other legal parallel hobbies. IMO

Actually, I gotta disagree with you on the allotted area, Ceph. I live in a small house with a basement, about 1300 square feet. That gives me a 14'x14' area to grow in. If I'm a caregiver that can't supply 5 patients with a steady stream of meds, I'm doing something terribly wrong, especially if I'm using a SOG style grow and use no larger than 6" pots and keep my grow properly staggered for a consistent harvest. I'll grant that the situation might not allow for a lot of variety in the room, but the grow is feasible. Sounds like they're just trying to keep people from getting ideas of massive grows and want to cut that avenue off before anyone causes serious distress in the community. I don't like the idea of that, but still... I can't say that it isn't doable. Remember, lots of folks grow their own in far less space than a 14'x14' room and get nice yields.

Unfortunately there will be exceptions and they shouldn't have unnecessary hurdle put in their way, that's all. Don't get me wrong I do think this is a good thing, just want people to have the ability. Start in with this and and and you're bound to exclude someone.

True, but you know me, I like to play devil's advocate. Personally, I'd like to see it raised to at least 20%, that's a nice round number that gives a bit more leeway. But like you said, at least it's a step in the right direction.
