Until both parties realize this they will never come close to solving the problem. To make any comparisons to this president or that president. Regan this Regan that. Republicans were able to do this and that. Currently there are close to 309 US citizens. The most important issue at hand is unemployment. Unless the population decreases drastically layoffs should be illegal. The main reason why corps or local gov;s to this is to beef up bottom lines or to keep fat salaries and benefits(pub sect). That fact is they need to hire more people at lower wages. Gov shouldn't pay unemployment benefits but create jobs with that pay??? Is this to complicated?

The Constitution was signed in 1776 when there was less than 4 million people. To say everything we need to do now has to follow something that couldn't have predicted our current situation is insanely absurd. Another huge problem is the education of our citizens. How come communist China and socialist India have economies progressing at a faster rate than ours?

When communist China was a hard core communist country the economy was stalled. Once they started introducing elements of capitalism they then because successful. Conservatives will say "that's proof that capitalism is better!", but I'd say that proves that extremism is never the best answer. Even communist China has realized that the way to have a successful economy are to borrow the successful bits and pieces from all types of economic theories and put them together in a mixed economy.

Communist extremism leads to economic stagnation. Capitalist extremism leads to social inequality and ultimately different type of economic stagnation when people can no longer afford to buy products in the marketplace. The solution to our problems isn't on one extreme or the other. The solution is to identify the problems in our economy and find other countries that have successfully fixed those problems, then steal their ideas and incorporate them into our economy regardless of ideology.
