Pipe Cleaning Technique

ok so i wanted to clean my pipe, and well i just decided to put 99% isopropanol rubbing alcohol in my pipe, clogging the holes with some paper towel, and filling my pipe with alcohol.... i waited like 15 minutes took out all the alcohol and BAM ! almost nothing left....... if course there was a tiny bit of brown left but i took it of easly using some paper towel

my pipe is made of glass by the way...... and well its crystal clear......

ill post up some pics when my pipe will be dirty again... i didnt think of taking a before and after........

If you boil it and move it around in the warm water, you can melt the resin out, then pour the water (slowly) through a coffee filter. After pouring, let the contents of the filter sit in the sun (or a dry area with air movement) for a day or 2 until dry. Then you have an entire pipes worth of resin to smoke.
I don't know anyone who LOVES smoking resin or anything, but when your out, it gets you by...

yeah but if you boil it (glass that is) you can break it due to changing temps, especially the hot to cold factor. I use rubbing alcohol and just let it sit in there for a day. Everything is usually dissolved by then.

and because alcohol evaporates, you can let the alcohol evaporate, which takes far less time than water and still have smokable bowl resin!

I've never had a glass piece break with this method. And I have a special pot JUST for boiling pipes in, but, i'm gentle with it.

Something about it sitting in alcohol while it evaps sounds unappetizing...

To each their own though. I was just offering an alternate method. So I guess I should have added to "Be Gentle".

I thought this was common knowledge... guess not. A great way to clean your bong is pour some salt in it, pour some rubbing alcohol in it, and shake it. The salt will not disolve in the alcohol, and will scrub out your bong! Works great man!

i have used both methods and usually do both i will leave in iso for a while then rinse and boil to get all the alcohol out. if i dont boil them after it seems like it tickles my throat alittle....but just had a vision with that coil pipe...you could take a cardboard milk carton...like school has... and then cut the top off and put that coil in it and fill with water around it and freeze it and then smoke through it and would be a cool smoke....sorry just a high thought...illadelph sells a bong like that

I've used a ice freeze on a squiggly pipe before, good taste but be really careful about dropping it or getting it too hot, the extreme temp differences could cause a crack easier than normal
