I used potting soil with miracle grow. I'm using floresent lighting (I'm getting more lighting this weekend). I give them anywhere from 16-24 hours of light at a time. I have a small personal fan blowing on the constantly. Whatever I'm doing seems to be working very well because they are much bigger now than they were in those pictures (1 week ago). I get most of my ideas from a book I have called "The Marijuana Grower's Insider's Guide" by Mel Frank. It's old as shit... It was written when I was born but it's working for me. I find it to be very informative.

This is my first time so I'm pretty much just winging it. I doubt that I will fail but if I do I'll keep going until I succeed.

I'll have to learn from my mistakes and make judgements based on earned experience.

Eventually. Taking pictures is low on my priority list right now. I gotta get a new phone I dropped it and smashed the screen.

My camera charger is MIA.

Nah, I time the light myself. It's usually 16-24+ hours of light and they "sleep" when I sleep. I talk to them too. I tell them goodnight and shit. hahahahaha

I'm using florecent lighting. Just some cheap shit I got from walmart really. I'm probably going to get more lighting now since people have been telling me I need more light. I just can't afford a lot of shit. I'm not going to be profiting off of anything I grow. It's strictly for me only.
That's hot.

Weed plants are quite resilient. My first grow was WAY worse than yours is going. But you completely have the right state of mind - "This is my first time so I'm pretty much just winging it. I doubt that I will fail but if I do I'll keep going until I succeed.

Ok here are my plants. The Babies and the bigger plant on the right and middle are my plants. The one that looks like total shit is my boyfriends plant. He actually made a bet as our seeds were germinating that he would have the best plant. So far I am obviously winning doing a better job. Thats what he gets for talking shit, right? haahaha I actually took over the plants for now and his plant is doing much better. Even though marijuana is a hardy plant, it still needs TLC and lots of it. Indoor plants don't just grow in a bucket of dirt. It's never that simple.

Anyway, for some reason it looks like the leaves on my two big plants (left and middle plants) are turning down a bit... I think it the soil may be compacted and I may need to remove soil for better aeration. mj3.jpgmj2.jpgmj.jpg

and here are my babies that are in serious need of transplanting (I've been lazy)

Do you have an idea on when your wanting to switch to 12/12?

I wouldn't go removing any soil.

Your gonna have to be careful on transplanting those little ones. They look to be nice and healthy so i'm sure you have a very nice root system under that dirt.Gonna be all tangled together.Beer cups can be a great addition to start out cuts or seed.

I'll probably wet the soil and wait a few minutes then use a large spoon to scoop them out. I'll try as hard as I can not to hurt them. This dilema is a product of my laziness.

I really don't know when I'm going to switch to 12/12. What do you recommend?

May work better if ya take out the entire dirt ball out of the pot and gently work them apart.Use the hose out side to gently wash away any excess dirt so ya can get any tangled roots apart.I'm sure you'll do fine though.

Well it also has to do with your light. You mentioned gettin more. Are you gonna get an HID or you gonna stick wit the floros? If you are goin with lower wattage you won't want them to get to big vertically. Not much penetration with floros so the shorter your girls are the better off you will be.What are they about 12 inches tall? And what strain? That also has alot to do with when you want to start 12/12.

EDIT:LOL,just saw your location.......can you give me directions???

Good tip about removing the soil completely and spraying the roots.

I dont know what strain actually. I'm probably sticking with floro light.

How do I keep the plants from getting so tall? They are probably around 12 inches.
