^ see above. - technically its a hap... but its a rock dwelling hap
and 20 minute job, if the tank is empty... i need to empty my tank. and move it away from the wall, and since its on leveling blocks, i need to almost Completely empty the tank, its more along the lines of a 3-4hr job
You aren't supposed to mix haps and mbunas, just alone for the fact that mbunas are herbivores and haps are omnivores. if your mbunas are eating high protien food that you should be feeding the hap they will get Malawi Bloat.
I painted my tank when it was full lol.
lol, yeah it's good food, but if you are feeding your haps and mbunas the same thing one of them isnt getting what they need or the other too much.
mbunas need spirulina , haps need protien. If you are feeding a food with enough protien for the hap, then the mbunas are getting too much protein and will get the bloat. Get it?
If you were feeding the mbunas a correct balanced diet then the haps aren't going to be getting what they need...
these fish i have, co exist naturally... and as a result of having haps in my tank, my offspring are for the most part dealt with! (ever tried to deal with 300 cichlid fry a month? what a pain in the ass!)
