Here is another link to this system https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/258474-diy-home-made-co2-guide.html

Using this valve is a great way to tell if the bottle is still putting out CO2. The pressure from the gas makes bubbles in the valve showing the release - No more bubbles means time to mix a new batch!

I bought 40lbs of molasses for $15. I use it on my plants and to generate C02 for my aquarium and tent. All of the byproduct is twice distilled into 180 proof rum ;) $15 of molasses makes several gallons.

I use a 7 gallon glass carboy with sugar and yeast in it. I've never measured how much it produces but i run crops withit and crops without it and it make a big differerence. Yeast and sugar is worth but you need a lot of. Sofive gallons of water five pounds of sugar and two packs of yeast in a 7 gallon carboy works.

Can you tell us more about the process Gastanker? Producing CO2 AND Rum sounds like a Win-Win!!

I buy bulk yeast (~$6 for a lb of it) and keep it in the fridge. I brew large batches in 5 gallon food grade plastic bucket and smaller batches in 1 gallon milk jugs. Use air hose attached to the cap to dispense the CO2. I might use a still similar to this one but with a stainless steel container and no plastic tubing.
