Collecting male pollen

You can use a q-tip or a small artist paint brush. apply the pollen to a few Flowers at the bottom. then leave it alone. At harvest time you will have seeds.

after harvest the plant will do shit, it is dead and in veg there are no budding sites for the pollen:roll:

you only can pollionat a plant during flowering, you copy that, then go a bir wise and do it:D

Sick thread Vid. i like it, but i am concerned with spreading the pollen to one of the other buds on a girl, u only need a teeny dab right, if so will this get anywhere else if i see no pollen go any where else. also i learned puttin a lil pollen in a clear sandwich baggie and putting it over the top of you smallest bud and secure with a twist tie, but with this method i dont kno if that bud will be able to breathe without a much room, maybe u can poke some hole in the sanwich baggie.

Also if you can is'nt it possible to take a clone of a budded female like the male and just use them two?

THANKS FOR A REPLY

Hey dude, I read yr posts, kinda stoned right now, but I have read about the technique you mention with the baggie, I dont really have any direct knowledge on it though.
I always see pollen kept in those 35mm film canisters.

As far as your last question, yes it is possible, it is much harder though. I am experimenting with this right now, and quite honestly...it dosent look good so far, I think I got an embalism or something, as the leaves are drooping a little today.

The further you are into flowering, the harder it is to clone.

Gee, that can depend on alot, but basically, a few weeks into flowering, maybe 2. When the sacks mature and spill there pollen, chances are the females are waiting for the males to shoot there load into her.

So get your pollen and q-tip, an go to town.

How early do u have to do this to get bulky mature seeds

Several things I like to touch on if I may!

1. You have to be very careful with pollen! Pollen floats very freely in the air, and not all of it do you see floating.

2. When pollenating , don't do it around any wind, fans and so on. You are sure to pollenate the whole plant this way.

3. Takes a very little amount of pollen on the pistals of your flowers to get tons of seed!

4. You can clone male and female plants when they are in the flowering cycle, but it takes a bit longer for them to take off because they have to revert back to the veg. stage. Best to leave under the light for 20 hours. They need a few hours of rest to restore their energy (sugar levels). And best to trim any bigger leafs off so that the plants can use their energy more towards it's root system.

While waiting for the male cutting to mature, does the light cycle matter? I put mine on the kitchen counter and we have a light that always stays on in there. Will this matter? Thanks

nice thing here is, you pop him into a window sill and he'll continue along on his mery way... as he comes to term, the pollen will collect in the bottome of the cup, a tap or 2 every so often can speed the process.... let him go as long as you wish to collect or he finishes....

Getting to the last of my seeds, so it's time to replenish. As if you need a reason for NL. LOL

Also thinking about using some on a Northern Berry I have going just to play.

Be careful folks. If your male is in the same HOUSE as your females and he busts his nut...you may have little ones (seeds) ALL OVER THE PLACE at harvest.

If you can..take the plant to be pollenated outside...pollenate it...then leave it there for a few days...minimum. After a few days wash the remaining pollen off.

takes about 4-6 weeks to fully form a viable seed

good luck
