Fookin elll - look like lumatek's. Even if they are all 400w - thats still 4800 watts right there.....

Ummm...I have to ask.

115 or 220?
1 or 2 circuit breakers? What amperage?
What's the rating of the power cables that feed the boxes?
What's your total wattage?

Inquiring minds want to know.
--------------------------------------------------------

Just in case anybody is interested.

Amperage = Wattage divided by Voltage

example 5KW/220V = 22.72A

Look like C.A.P. MLC-8X single trigger light controller boxes. Boxes are wired with what looks like romex. Can't tell the wire size but those boxes are rated for 40amps. You hardwire them to the loadcenter or subpanel with 240v. Ballasts look like they are wired 120v so they can't be 1000w lights cause that would be to many amps for the box. Maybe 600w ballasts. I really can't see that well so they could be wired 240v which would allow him to use 1000w ballasts. I would imagine it's on 2 seperate breakers; especially if it's a FLIP. If it isn't he could have just bought a 12 or 16 light controller instead. Plus each box has it's own line coming into it through the wall. Would just seem more efficient electrically to wire the boxes seperately in case of problems or anything.

Just my opinion

Pretty good there Colombo:clap: Good one Phillip

You are correct, 1 is an mlc-8x and the other is mlcd-8x. They are wired for a 50 amp breaker each and run on 6/2 romex. On a 50 amp breaker these unit say they will handle 8-1000's each at 240v and the math does work but I opted for 600's and am only running 12.

These are for a single flower room split into 2 areas, pics to come when Im finished.

The main reason I went ith 2 controllers instead on one is I can have lights come on at slightly different times making the power bump easier on the system.

Thanks for the comments and more to come for sure.

Haha. Thanks. Now that I look closer I see that the box on the left has the dual trigger cords. I used to use the MLC-8X's as well. They say they are rated for 40amps so 8 1000w lights at 240v is 40amps. I wouldn't want to test that though. Had to switch to the Powerbox DPC-15000SQ when stepped up to 10 lights. Funny you mention the power bump. I never really thought of that but the Powerbox actually does it for you. Smart move though on your part.

I'm sub'd man. Excited to see the show you guys put on.

No problems man. Where all here to learn and become better at our hobby. No offense taken. Much love.

I'm a real estate developer. So i'm part electrician, plumber, carpenter, etc.. We do our own electrical installations. Really high end stuff so I know my way around a panel.
