A tax analogy, who's really paying their fair share?

Buck, you are argueing for lower taxes for the poor, but are for raising cigarette taxes to subsidise stadiums for billionaires.
Raising cigerette taxes will definately hurt the poor more than the rich.
Please explain your position.
cigarettes don't fill out 1040s and no one ever made you smoke.

I guess it's your ignorance about taxation that leads you to believe you pay the marginal tax rates you see on charts. LOL
For a guy that puts himself out there by complaining what others pay in taxes, it's embarrassing that you have no clue what you pay yourself.

Does the Daily Kos tell you that big bad greedy businessmen like Romney buy up failing companies that were already on the path of BK just to fire the employees for a profit? And are you that gullible to believe it? LMAO
i know what i pay in taxes and i know how romney accumulated his wealth on the backs of hard working, middle class folk. it's well documented.

Why don't you mention the companies he restructures that become successful and hire more employees, a bit disingenuous wouldn't you say.
congrats, mr. romney, on creating a few thousand min wage jobs.

BTW, a plutocracy cannot exist without a corrupt government as it's partner, we need to get government out of capitalism in order to restore the free market.
yeah, let's get rid of anti-trust laws too!

:dunce:

Do you think it's fair for a guy like you, that had just as much chance to succeed in life but for what ever reason did not, pay only $2,500 annual federal income tax. While a person who did succeed pays $2million in federal income taxes ?
Who's contributing the most and who is helping the country more?
And if that "rich" guy paid triple that amount in taxes, how does it effect your life?
Well, that's simply cause UB is a little boy (intellectually) who cries bitch when he doesn't got it his way.

He apparently doesn't think it's fair, no matter what the facts state, or how many times he's proven wrong. If it's not in favor of himself, it's wrong. We call that a bitch.

He wants others who have worked harder, are luckier, and have more, to feel "his pain". That's also a bitch.

He can cry all he wants, but it won't change the fact that he will always covey his ignorance as some sort of "fact" even when blatantly proven wrong all over this forum. Never have I seen such an ignorant human being, justify injustice, the way he does. It's truly pathetic.

I've made about 36+k a year before, and I didn't pay anywhere near 22%... try about 8%-9%. UB is about a stupid as they come, he will keep speaking his "facts" though...

This is how capitalism works.

Don't like it? Get the fuck out of here.

Want to do the same? Start a business.

Want to complain? No need... you have the option to do either.

there is a difference between vulture capitalism and venture capitalism.

and it's not a zero sum game. the rich and wealthy do not do worse if the working poor or middle class do better. if the working poor and middle class do better, so do the uber wealthy. aggregate demand is the name of the game.

my pa-in-law is a millionaire many times over, and i stand to take over much of his empire once he gets tired of it and i am ready for such a task (his daughters and son do not want to run his business). but he treats his employees right.

he pays them a very fair wage and provides health insurance. he gives them an annual bonus every year depending on how well run the apartment complex is. he even pays some for college for a few of his employees.

i hire several people to help with my treadmills several times a year, i don't exploit anyone. i try my best to help them, not scalp them to put a buck in my own pocket.

capitalism is ideal, especially if you have mechanisms in place to ensure that people behave ideally.

First off Bucky, no, you don't know what you pay in taxes, that's a fact.
No one making 35k a year pays 25% in federal income taxes, that claim is ludicrous.

A good analogy would be a newb coming on here claiming his OG Kush plants are 5lbs each!
So I'd say, both of you are full of shit. LOL

And that's why capitalism is capitalism, because you're free to some degree in how you want to operate a business, which includes employee compensation. So of course there are different "forms" of capitalism. That's what capitalism is supposed to be, so what is your point?

So, when you said "I know what I pay in taxes and I know how Romney accumulated his wealth on the backs of hard working, middle class folk. It's well documented". - you infer that capitalism operated in a certain fashion is to be despised, in the sense that, if it makes money from other's efforts, without "fair" compensation, it's a terrible thing.

If a employee who assembles cardboard boxes, is making $500 worth of boxes an hour, but is only being payed $10 an hour, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, if the employee has willingly agreed to do the job. Let's just make things simple and say that, the employee could make the boxes for himself and therefore make more money for himself, instead of working for the company. That's not the business owners fault, that's just the stupidity of the employee making the boxes (if he is in fact capable of employing himself with his own skill set).

Who are you to determine how, what, or who is compensated "fairly"? If you own a business, you make an offer to a potential/current employee, and they either accept it, or decline & look elsewhere. Employment itself is a form of capitalism in the very same sense for both the employer and employee. If either party doesn't accept the "terms", then you decline on an agreement. It's quiet simple.

So you couldn't even logically address me on post #89? Figures, even though there is no logic in debating against what I said in post #89. I figured you'd at least attempt in doing so, as you so often do, furthering your appearance as an ignoramus.

Someone pass me the bucket, I may have just beheaded the throned, king-troll. I think we may find out it's a Medusa troll here, shortly. LOL.

what's there to respond to?

sometmes capitalism operates in a shitty fashion, sometimes it operates in an excellent fashion that benefits all. romney would be an example of the former, honest folks like myself and my family are the epitome of the latter.

my pa-in-law is still rich and his employees are happy. win-win. there should be more mechanisms in place to prevent the kind of vulture capitalism practiced by others that leaves taxpayers footing the bill for romney's path of destruction.

Bucky, I sure hope you're not autistic or have down syndrome, cause I'm getting a kick making you look stupid.
Your little chart is only a marginal tax rate table, are you seriously that misinformed about your own taxes?

Go ask your daddy in-law the difference between the lovely chart you provided, and the effective tax rate you paid on your 35k, I'm confident he'll expect you to know these fundamentals if you are going to run his company in the future!

Wow, it must be devastating to realize you're not the intellect you thought you were. ROTFLMAO

LOL!
