Are auto strains any better or worse than Rey strains?

I'm gonna be growing some auto seeds I got with normal strains so they will have a normal light cycle anyone have any experience with them

worst...they will bud before your other plants even though the light is the same so they will be a little smaller most likely and yield a little less, plus its just not natural..i have no personal xp here that is just what ive read...theirs ppl out there that like em but just not my cup of tea

Well i had a good experience with one auto - I was vegging 3 bigger plants in a 1m tent, and had the auto flowering along side them. Once I harv'd the auto I flipped 12/12. Gave me a nice stash to smoke while the others flowered :)

Potency of the smoke was a bit lower than photoperiod, but the smoke was still tastey and sticky.

most photoperiod growers will avoid autos and class them as inferior, i have only grown autos indoors, they are perfect for space restricted growers, i grew 3 at a time in a small wardrobe under 23 hours of light a day and never been happier.... although i have an urge to start growing regular photoperiod plants now as i've heard endlessly that the smoke is bettter, but i would recomend auto's and after smoking my results so would all my bleary eyed and very stoned friends

Some smoke is some isnt. Auto are very potent depending on the selected strain. I have some afgan kush ryders thar are in tgeir jars. My son in law just finished some reg afgan kush. They are virtually identical, the high, bud formation, smell and bud colors. Very good smoke btw.

i guess i just dont get the point...if i can take a reg bean and control when it starts to flower, i can start the flowering cycle early if im restricted on space...anyone have any input on what exactly the benefit is?

there are lots of benefits it depends on what suits you .... shorter life cycles.... no need for a 12/12, so outdoors you can have more then one harvest a year..

i use 23/1 light because i live in a cold region.. then i don't need to heat my grow space at night.....another POINT that serves me well

i only went with autos because of there overall size at maturaty.... i or anyone else can't make you get the point, its there .... its an option

wow a little harsh man lol...your wrong you actually did make me get the POINT :D ....makes perfect sense in that respect an outdoor grow where the temp stays high enough to grow all year but the light cycle doesnt allow for multiple harvests...or the need to keep the heat up , just never thought of that because i, as many others, are fighting to keep temps down instead.

I think the point is convenience. Autos are just easier for a lot of people to grow. Plant it and forget it basically. It's kind of like the difference between an automatic transmission and a manual transmission. Manuals get more torque and better gas mileage, but many people prefer the convenience of not having to shift gears. I have only grown photoperiod, except for 1 auto, which was weaker than I like. It was a freeby and I can't remember it's name. I do have some Dinafem Auto Cheese growing right now though and have some World of Seeds Afghan Kush Rider auto that I am going to try a few months from now. I've heard a lot of good things about the World of Seeds Afghan Kush Rider. I really can't wait to give it a try.

yeah ... i hear ya .... its a fine line between bitter cold and 90f here... so constant light and enough fans helps keeps things even

Grew 1 auto ak-47 to check it out. Good smoke, give it 8/10. Grew it in a 5 gallon pail. A good 3/4oz from that. Was very impressed. 83 days from seed to cutdown. There are some that are 65 days from start to finish. Good for northern canada where you have light from 4am till 1200 am. Not much for dark period. The Ak was very good smoke. Been smoking for 29 years, I would definately buy again. It is not inferior as some would say. I imagine that some are not as good as others, just like any weed. They are crossed with another cannabis strain to get the autoflowering. Limited to 15 plants at a time, no matter what stage, so I am going with the photoperiod guys for now. When my stock goes up,(allowed 675 dry grams for storage), I will definately get more autos.
