Wait until you are a husband and/or a father, it's the norm to work your ass off for your family and receive no discernible appreciation. But outside of these roles, I'm with you, Pad, and I wouldn't normally do for others without some appreciation shown...

Surprised you didn't list that one, Zaehet ;) My response would also include, 'Look, since you're omnipotent and omniscient, you knew exactly who I'd be and what I would believe and you had the power to make me otherwise if you so chose. What I asked 420Iam is WHY he came to the conclusion he did. All you did was restate what he wrote, an argument from incredulity. Actually, you changed some of the parameters. He never said life itself was impossible without a creator, but human life needed a creator and had a purpose.
Your last sentence is completely wrong as science never says life comes from chance, whatever that means. It does say that chance plays some major roles in both the formation of life and many of the events that got us to where we are today. If there never was an extinction event that killed of the highly successful dinosaurs, mammals, and therefore humans might never have gotten the foothold it needed. Does this creator make these kinds of accidents occur to guide life towards humans as an end-goal? If so, you believe in much more than a mere designer.

anyway this is in the first paragraph of the page you linked...The probability of a monkey exactly typing a complete work such as Shakespeare's Hamlet is so tiny that the chance of it occurring during a period of time even a hundred thousand orders of magnitude longer than the age of the universe is extremely low, but not actually zero.

so sorry maybe i should have said almost impossible instead of basically saying it was impossible..watch that movie i posted and see if you arent intrigued and saying to yourself yaaaa it does seem so unlikely that we werent created by something on purpose, we are just machines, reallllly well made machines that have become selfaware of existence but not necesarily of what we really even are...now im not saying i believe in this "god" people have conjured but i do believe our existence was not just happenstance.
 
just dont use the word "god" as a particular being ...replace the word leprechaun in your thing with the word luck, luck exists and leprechaun is a symbolism of luck....well all im saying is everything must be created by something and maybe "god" doesnt exist but a creator of some sort does...god is just our symbolism of our creation...ofcourse we can say god as we've made it to be doesnt exist (this guy looking at us in the sky) but take it further than that say whatever created us exists and we call it god now thats very different than lerpechauns and kind of kills your links argument

Hey Kermit. I know what you're saying about how difficult it can be to understand how we may have evolved into the amazing sentient creatures that we are. I really liked this three part Nova series, 'Becoming Human'. It has really cool CGI and is directed and paced very well. If you have the time, take a look at the first video for a few minutes. i love nova!! ill def watch it all right now actually im bored lol...im well versed in the big bang theory, the something without nothing clause, and many other theories such as those in scientology and after hearing everything i have so far from both sides i feel like life didnt come by chance through evolution, im honestly more apt to say we were made by aliens or even our whole universe was manufactured as an experiment or testing grounds before i truly feel we just fell into place by the grace of the universe that just came into existence for no absolute reason and by no absolute intervention..also the near proof of the multi-verse shows that every option happens every single thing is fact, just not here and at this time, which further points to what i say about us just being machines why is it that once we compute sometihng in our brain other realities disappear...im rambling i love talking about this stuff and i dont claim to know it all or be right in anything im saying because its all still open to interpretation!! but hey my thoughts on this subject change with the wind and thats the good thing i will never, unless i know the full truth, say hey we were SURELY created on purpose or no thats not possible because it just doesnt make sense...but for now im leaning on the side of a creator, ya we have flaws but im not saying the creator is a god maybe just another low life form as ourselves with a little more understanding and power..hey maybe were a grain on an animals back i dont know, thats what intrigues me though i truly dont know...check out the vid i posted a page or two back that is the latest thing that has me saying hmmm makes more sense that we were created somehow by something instead of pure evolution...

also i dont disbelieve certain truths of evolution...thats why this all gets confusing i dont deny any of these theories i just choose to meld them together when it seems logical...sure i believe monkeys evolved to humans but do i believe single cell organisms evolved so far as to become monkeys..i just dont know if i can believe that happened without intervention and anyway where did the first cell come from then!!??? i wish i had alllllll the answers lol
