Noob question Views on miracle grow products

What's everyone's view on miracle grow compost, nutrition etc I was in my local garden centre today and it's everywhere, is it a big no no?
 
With all those time release nutes it becomes very east to over feed your plants, and you can't flush because the more you water the more of those nutes dissolve and feeds it even more. When growing in soil, I stick with organic. I also hold off on the first feeding for about 3 weeks, then start at 1/4 to 1/2 str and gradually go up from there.
 
Miracle crap. As pureblood89 stated, all those slow release nutrients make it difficult to control and it really wasn't designed for what we grow. It's everywhere because it's a big mainstream company like Scotts. I use it for my regular house plants because it's cheap and I don't really care about them. Their just there for decoration, but I would never use it for my babys.

The soil isnt bad, youll grow perfectly normal bud, its filled with gnat eggs though, those are what can get you.
 
I'm about to finish off my last grow using Miracle Grow w/ 6 month feed. This was my 3rd grow using it..
I only used it because I'm poor and can't afford all of those fancy pants soils when growing in bulk. You can grow plants in the MG medias, but the results aren't as good as they could be. Never really had any problems when using it though.
I just started a new strain, this time went with an organic & natural Black Gold soil. The cost was only $7 more (for same size bag), than what I was spending on the bags of MG.
Now just to ditch the cheap-o powder bloom boosters I'm using and find something more professional at around the same price.
Being poor sucks ass..

Are you fuckin' serious!?!? All this time I was wondering where the fuck these damn fungus gnats were coming from..

Would multipurpose compost go as a good medium I'm just making a list on do's and don'ts , I'm doing a shop next week for compost, nutes, and planters kinda figured about miracle grow it wasn't the best for our plants
 
Even cheaper universal soils work better. A small local company made soil would work good. What you need is the right ph and *some* nutes for the first weeks. After that you add nutes to water.
 
Check out my miracle grow organic 10-7-3 in my sig. I use miracle grow seedling soil 5-5-5 now and add my own perlite.

Yeah man I dont know if its the bag or just the company but they are pretty open about saying that its full of gnat eggs and they dont give a shit.
 
I was asking couple questions to the chick that works in the garden centre first thing she asks what you growing love to just say some weed lowryder2 what you suggested just to see her reaction ha I found a grow shop near me gonna take a drive up the weekend they sell everything

umm.. no! Seriously why would you advertise you are growing MJ? Even if you are totally legal it is a BAD IDEA

Only problem with MG in my opinion is the gnats that I've had from their soil. The time release nutes are easily delt with. Just don't feed like a god damn maniac! Also there is MG that doesn't have time released nutes. <----No one seems to realize this
 
They use a chit load of bark in their organic soil now. Trying Black Gold organic atm and also FFOF.
 
I use multi purpose compost 40% peat free. Who is peat? :D Ive had no problems start to finish but its got shit loads of tree init :/ When its dry it doesnt even look like soil :/
