haha you couldnt pay me to live down there or in america for that matter
I've lived in the Dominican Republic...twice. And I can assure you, there are solid reasons why I intend on doing it again.

1. The people are much happier in general, despite their lack of material items.
2. Less government...hell almost no government regulation.
3. Economics, my middle class income here goes infinitely further down there.

And if you're in Canada, you couldn't pay me to live there either...or the entire continent of Europe for that matter.

To OP:

If these are the 4 choices, I'd take Georgia...so long as it isn't anywhere near Atlanta. I've traveled that state end to end, try Valdosta or Marietta. But the northern portions are nice as well, if you can handle country living. Little known fact, the infamous movie Deliverance was filmed in NE Georgia...squeal like a pig boy.

Texas I cannot comment on, although at least one small city seems to make those top 10 most liveable lists that come out annually

Ah, unless you intend on opening a restaurant forget about NO/Louisiana

Alabama?...same as Louisiana minus New Orleans.

Glad to see you already scratched Florida...wages are too low in right to work states based on tourism.

there are old people everywhere, lots of them love the mountains and hot weather. so many retires actually retiring. but i still think they use their age to act slow.

Just stumbled on this vid, I've been there twice. You have to be really careful driving to this town, both roads are treacherous and cutout of mountainsides...with no guardrails. There are memorials and gravestones marking where people went over at various points, down into the river valley some 800 feet or so.

I could grow some dank shit in those valleys...:-P

Lol's, I helped build much of SW Florida in the 90's...was a stucco/drywall supplier and lived in Naples. Ft. Myers beach was my downfall, spent waaay too much time boozing it up etc.

But damn, I used to find some bomb ass weed in Ft. Myers...the shitty part where all the Jamaicans hang out near MLK.:bigjoint:
