also its not nessecarly freezing the butane, its more of freezing the lipids and fats and other crap together so when you run it through the filter it all catches as one big piece.

This is whats currently getting used. the heating pad on the bottom is usually wrapped around the side and there is a hot plate underneath. this has helped keep steady temperatures throughout the chamber so there is no big temperature fluctuations.
