    24 hour darkness before flowering

I tried it with a mix of strains and didn't see a different. I've also tried the extended dark period right before harvest and I didn't see any great change there either.

    rubbermaid grow box carbon filter

I suggest buying a carbon scrubber and fan combo. It will eliminate the smell, please the wife, and above all, protect you. Scent control is a top priority when growing.

3 months old. Short Plants. Problems. Please Help

They might for a bit, but in the end they will be fine. This is a good thing, and is a result of the added lighting. You don't want to have root circling. You do need a transplant. The only thing you need to do is transplant them. That is too much of the wrong type of fertilizer. You...

Ceramic Metal Halide + High Pressure Sodium, a new level of performance

I'm doing 600w HPS + 400w CMH in a Growzilla ballast and I love it. I used it for veg for a little while too and the results were outstanding. I'm going to convert all of my lighting to HPS+CMH.

First Time 'Caregiver' - closet/light lowdown?

Using a carbon filter is the best way to kill smell IMO. There are other options but carbon scrubbers will clean the air and still leave your flowers their natural scent. Your flouros won't need to much cooling, but your HID will. You should try to get a 400w to run coolly. You can either...

My baby"s more than doubled, I need help!

There are some guides on the forum on how to LST. I suggest reading through them. Training is pretty easy to do. You won't damage the cola by training it, but you will change the way it grows. You shouldn't be gaining too much more vertical height if you are on day 20 of 12/12.

Plants 6 days into Veg, Not Growing!

85 degrees won't cause super stunted growth in seedlings. I suggest gently removing the seed casing from the plant that still has it on. There is no guarantee that it will be able to do that on its own. How big are your containers? Its quite possible that the plants are still sending out...

8' indica strain and purple stem strain. Any suggestions? First time grower

Good looking plants, but there is no way anyone is going to be able to tell you what strain they are.

To trim or not to trim, that is the question

I agree with a lot of what you have written, and it s commonly accepted, but defoliation can be used to increase plant productivity. My buddy is currently running a defoliation test on a run of 12 clones or so. Right now they are in veg and have been defoliated once. They will get defoliated...

    cloning in aeroponics and flowering.

It sounds like you are describing net pots and possibly hydroton, but I'm not sure. You can get net pots in all different sizes.

    my soil help

Personally I wouldn't use dollar store soil to grow my plants. The only way to find out if it works is to buy a bag and test it out. Kind of hard to make any determination based on your description.

Unless you are overwatering to an extreme you shouldn't have to stop watering to get a plant to sex. Congrats on the female.

To trim or not to trim, that is the question

I don't trim in that fashion. I think defoliation can work for certain strains, but you don't really train the plant with defoliation, you just defoliate at a critical time. I think you need to either defoliate starting in veg so you can train your plant to get used to it, or try and leave...

    Spider Cocoon?

It is a scale: Info from Icmag infirmary. Scale (Outdoor Problem) Scale can be found on stems, underside of branches, trunks, young trees or shrubs. They usally emerge from there eggs around March to Aug and make there homes on the plant. They pierce the cells and feed on the sap of the...
