That's called a "Fiery Skipper". Do a quick search. It is the culprit for most if not all bud worms in the valley.

They're usually gone by mid October, so my last spray(if necessary) is around October 1st.

As long as I see butterflies(small ones) flying around the plants I continue applying Bt every two or three weeks. Use a light mist that won't penetrate the ripening buds.

Hey man, I'm down here in Tx and my eldo looks nothing like what you've got going. The days are starting to shorten, but still about 13 hours. They won't hit 12/12 until the end of this month. How many hours of darkness are you getting there?
