i have relatives who live in a 3500sq. ft home with electric everything(stove, range, water heater, AC, etc.....) They have a bill that is nearly $800 every month... If you guys do some research on elec consumption you will see this is not an unreasonable amount to use, especially if the bill is paid on time.

People just can't help but put their 2c in every time a big OP shows on riu. Some people actually have the audacity to think the grower didn't consider power usage when setting up something this big.

what are you talking about, where not hating , if thats not a legal grow its the dumbest person ever period, say what you will but that site will be busted . where not hater where just making sure the person knows that electric bill will most def raise the eyebrow regaurdless if its paid on time and for boulderheads i too live in a all electric house thats 1800 square foot and my bill is only 80 bucks in the summertime and 500 in the winter so im not buying that. electric heat is crazy money

There is no way people growing that big never considered the power usage. I've known multiple people irl with 20k watt grows. They finish the crop and move to a new location before they can get hit.

It's something special to be able to see an op like this grown in front of our eyes.

maybe if you would read the entire thread rather than just skip to last page, you would know he is legit as others have said. If your bill is 500 in the winter and ur 1800sq. why does it seem unreasonable to have an $800 a month bill for 3500 sq. ft. As for the summer u must not live in the Northeast where humidity is a bitch and you have to run your 12 ton AC unit all the time. Think what you want bro, but I'm not making it up. Not arguing TLD, I feel the same as you on the positive vibe issue. Check this out for everyone concerned about power.

If you run a decent size welder in a shop you will burn anywhere from 4kw-15kw an hour, depending on how many machines and the size of the machine, and how efficiently it uses power.
Put in a ten hour shift everyday and you are burning way more juice than Riz ever will.

Damn, I guess this is what happens when the thread starter is gone from a big thread like this. Bunch a BS arguing. Progress Report! please. But ya, its legal and the guy shoulda realized that before arguing, but who really cares about uninformed opinions. I bet riz doesn't. If it wasn't legal, I dunno about the NW, but around here no bells go off unless your power consumption suddenly drops to zero. There's millions of homes being monitored by computers. They don't waste thier money and time programming them to look for jumps in consumption because that happens way too often; people sometimes take months before they fully move into a home. And as for consistently high consumption, lots of people run businesses out of their homes. My buddy's mom has some kind of internet business where she constantly runs a huge mainframe server thing that fills half a room. Her electric bill is consistently over 1000 which is abnormal around here. She's never had people come to check if she's a pot grower. It does seem like an easy tip off until you do some reading on the subject.

I'm running about 1/2 that at 250/300$ a month extra on my bill
I pay early and they love me. In this correction ( not recession) they don't waste time on people actually paying their bills

Ok, i see we are now 22 pages deep so i can see some people skipping to the end instead of reading the full length, but just to make sure it is out there. Riz and i have planned this for about 3 months doing research for location, materials, delivery of the materials, cost of power, security, smell, protection ( this means the local Police know about it and wave when they pass, most officers seem to have alot of growing questions. lol) etc. So this endevoure is not something that was put up in the matter of two weeks. Just to put an idea of what something like this runs, it's about the average cost of a brand new Midgrade SUV. So as anyone would there were steps to make sure this is solid.
To settle a seemingly repetitive topic here, i have a friend who works with the FBI and has with the DEA - Power useage is not a marker for search and seasure. There are just to many possibilties for power consumption inside the home. Like the welder here is another thing that you can use that will get two benefits from - FISH TANKS! now i am talking like the 165 Gallon i have, that alone will easily draw over 2500 watts with heaters, air pumps, water pumps and current makers. - What is the most common senario is that some one will have a massive jump in there bill for consecutive months at certain times, this will allow a Power Meter man to come to your home to see if there is a open line or draw that shouldn't be there. And all he is looking for is the meter, what gets poeple in trouble most of the time is the Advanced Nuits bottles and the 10 -30 empty bags of soil in the back yard or along side the garage. THEN he would call the police, because once you put your trash in the bin and wheel it to the curb it is FAIR GAME for ANY law enforcement to search it. So i hope that helps.
Also - one final point - We also have a lawyer who is versed in this specific area of the law as well, just in case it isn't local Police for some reason knocking on the door.
