1000W HPS - How many plants per light?

The plants from seed should have roughly 2 months with germ and veg time to mature properly and get the best quality bud possible. A clone is all ready as mature as the mother, so you can get good results from 25 days veg time with several plants. The reason for the 400 or 600 for a scrog is that they don't penetrate as far as a 1000 watts. This is 1 of the reasons the plants are kept smaller, with a 1000 watts you can grow a full mature plant and get a much better yield per plant. And I personally think quality also. Then you have seeds left for round 2, but different strokes for different folks. Oh, i don't know if it was mentioned to you even a seed straight into 12/12 will veg for 3-4 weeks before flowering just from needing to get some kind of structure.

Who are you to know how much time I spend every day reading and studying?

Who are you to say that these questions that I've asked are irrelevant?

Do you think you own this place?

It is an open forum and if my questions about this subject of growing cannabis are somewhat irritating for you, then I would suggest you to fuck yourself.

Thank you for the information. I already know that 1000W penetrates further than 400W or 600W, but you did not explain me why couldn't one apply the power of penetration to growing a bigger number of smaller plants.

Thanks to the fact that 1000W penetrates further, one could raise the bulb higher and thus by doing so increasing the area covered by light, WHICH MEANS, that it opens an opportunity to have a bigger area covered by smaller plants.

Please correct me, if I'm wrong.

:D

more plants = less veg time for same yield. Also almost all nug is tops, you lolipop the sides and its a tray of popsickles.

I like 6" square pots on a 4x8 (inside) tray. Unlike rockwool logs you can rearrange them by height (stadium) for first three weeks, then lollipop and trellis.
Thank you for sharing your opinion about this matter. Yesterday I had a thought and I asked from myself.. doesn't it sound logical that if you have more plant material to start with, then you have more of acceleration? It's like the snowball effect.

I lack of experience and I lack of knowledge, but my logic says that more plants would produce more plant material in the same amount of time than less plants would.

In my opinion, it is plain logic, no matter what. I could be wrong, but no one has stated it... yet.

Most people just go off the topic for some reason.

I don't get it... it's not like when you have 10 plants opposed to 1 they work as a team a grow faster and bigger, they each get less room the more plants total.. you can pull the same amount with 1-3 big plants opposed to 9 small ones

You are saying that 3 big plants opposed to 9 small plants would yield the same amount. I'm not stating otherwise.

My question is not about the amount of yield, but about the amount of time instead.

Do you think that 3 plants would achieve X amount of plant surface with the same amount of time as opposed to what 9 plants would?

In MY opinion, every plant is like a snowball - the bigger it gets, the faster it grows.

If you have three X sized snowballs and you roll them 10 feet on snow, do you think that they would gain the same amount of mass with 10 feet as opposed to what nine X sized snowballs would gain?

The answer is no.

If this logic is applied to growing plants, then 9 plants would cover 5x5 feet area in less time than 3 plants would.

The question is not about "how many grams per watt". The question is about "how many grams per watt per day".

Do you now get it?

Let me ask you a stupid question while your @ it...

How many of the same thread does RIU need?

Just do a search + you'll find many threads with this same question.
It's not the question that pisses people off, it's the fact that this has already been answered multiple times in multiple threads just like this one. (+ your an asshole)

You want me to grow it for you too? lazy bstard

Learn from experience like the rest of us.

I already know the answer to your question, but I don't like your attitude so you can find out for yourself.

If its a faster turn over you're after then clones are the only way to achieve it effectively.

Yes SOG will yield faster.

It can be done under 1000w. The higher the light though the less light the plants receive.

As a first grow that from all accounts, sounds like you need it to be a successful one, then growing some larger plants gives you the best opportunity of getting the best yield you can.

I personally use a 400w and generally grow 4x2ft tall plants under it. Occasionally I have 3x2ft tall trained plants with 4 SOG style clones that occupy the same floor space as a normal 2ft tall trained plant.

Out of the SOG area I generally achieve around 80g total from the 4. One of my 2ft tall girls generally has +100g on each plant.

I could fit 16 SOG plants in my area but I personally don't feel confident that i could achieve my normal yields this way without spending alot of time tweaking things to find what nutrient forumla works best to achieve the big numbers.

ya well since you're only doing this one run it seems, 9 @ 6 week veg will get u more than less plants... you can get the same from less plants but you'll need longer veg times. Just get going though we're eager for pics!

You're talking about the kind of thread where one person asks growing related questions and other people start attacking him like hyenas?
A lot of threads are full of the same kind of information that is off the topic.

If you don't understand, why don't you just remain silent and let other people discuss the subject who are interested in doing so?

Ultimately it boils down to what you want to try.

With 4k of lighting you have the opportunity to try a SOG area if you wanted to without effecting your yield immensely as you'd still have 3k for backup.

Point made.

I'll go with 9 plants per light to keep it more simple for myself, so I won't make the mistake of jumping over my own abilities. The question of "what if" still remains, but I don't think it would be my last grow :)

Here comes the last question before I can start my seeds..... (wait for the pics for few minutes please)
