this was another question that I had. Yes, it is air cooled. the question is, the vents for the tent can cause a little light to come in. So how am I to vent the tent well and keep light out during the dark 12, without having to go close them every 12 hours?
 
get the largest diameter plumbing "P" trap you can, and rig it up as a light trap... you might even cover one end with some black nylons or something.

or you could get some flex duct, and bend it back and forth in the same shape as a P trap and the bends should dramatically reduce any light leaks.

sounds good. Any opinion on where I ran my duct to in the attic? think that will be ok being right beside the vent going outside?
 
I dont think thats a good idea. I think it will just spread in the attic. I've seen it first hand, and worst case scenario condensation will drip from the ceiling. Mold will go throughout entire attic.

There are a lot of variables, depends on how well your ventilation setup and outside temps, insulation, etc. Sounds like what you have a gable vent and is not the greatest.

Not sure you have an easy solution.

To answer your other questions, the shorter run with least amount of bends is best. Its best to intake at an ambient temp, from indoors. Indoors has slightly higher Co2, and indoors is more of a constant temp. I wouldn't grab from basement, to much humidity.
 
I have one other idea. Its hard to write out but if your familiar with the construction of a house you will probably understand.

There is the over lap of the room that goes out about a foot maybe a little longer. There are siding vents under there " I guess to keep pests out and look good to the eye" what if I took one of those siding vents out and slid the duct hose out of it?
 
Sounds like you are talking about an eave vent. I made a box out of cardboard that connects my duct directly to the vent. I use one for intake and another for exhaust. I use a PC fan to push fresh air from outside through a 4" duct into my room and the 6" fan draws air through the cool tubes and out through a eave vent.

Another option would be to use a dryer type vent so it looks and sounds like you are doing your laundry. Everyone is right about not venting into the attic. I have had to spray bleach in attics to kill the black mold many times due to exhaust fans dumping into the attic when I maintained 850 rental homes.
 
ok cool. Let me just get this right. So I can vent it up through the attic and over to the eave vent "replace the eve vent with a dryer vent" and I'm good to go?

I did not replace the eave vent. I simply made a box out of cardboard that fits over the vent from inside the attic that my duct connects to. From the outside it looks normal.
