hey. iv been over to your thread and had a look and your girl looks all well and good! ill keep checking back on it to see how it goes. we should harvest around very similar times so yeah it would be cool to compare harvests.

hey and welcome. the case is 42(H)x20cm(W)x44cm(L). its some old beat up thing iv had for years, glad i saved it now lol. it needs some work yet cos its not 100% light proof which i might have to fix very soon.

hi. my light schedule is 20/4 from seed and its 31 days old, the jack showed first white hairs at 18 days old i think. i was actually worrying about this a day or two ago thinking i might not have an autoflowering plant on my hands. i will happily switch to 12/12 to flower it but im worried it will effect the jack is some way since that lady is coming along very nicely and i dont want to stress her. i need to do it soon otherwise the big bang will literally turn into some monster size thing. need to 100% light proof my box first though since i didnt bother doing it at the start with them been autoflowering and them been able to take 24/0

anyone else have an opinion on this 'autoflowering' plant?

Nice thread man. Perhaps just move your "auto" plant outside of the pc to somewhere dark for 12 hrs then simply put it back in 12 hrs later for light.. Hopefully you will see within a cpl weeks if it's a female or male.

hey and welcome. i think im going to bite the bullet and just switch to 12/12 once i have light proofed my box 100%. even if it does stress my jack plant i reckon it will still grow fine plus ill have a nice yield from the big bang. im dreading its going to grow out of control though lol.

will upload pics in a couple of days to see the progress too.

since the temps at night can get quite cool i'm hoping that their falls colours really come out.

i'm going into town soon to pick up some nutes since leaves are starting to turn yellowish. started light proofing my case too so it should be done in the next few hours meaning i can switch to 12/12 and flower this big bang!

hey just checked out ur whole journal very nice and bushy plants u have. im also on my 1st grow on about day 5 now so got a long way to go. since i only got a 400w HPS light i might have to steal ur idea for veg once i get some money :p and also how do you subb? carnt find a sub button any where
p.s really keen on how ur big bang turns out if it is auto that think might grow three times bigger :O anyways good stuff man

update time!

first of all iv redone the inside of the case. iv added lightite diamond diffusion foil instead of mylar and tidied it up quite a bit. main reason for adding this was it is light proof compared to mylar.

got some biobizz bloom npk 2-6-3.5and have been feeding them 2.4ml per litre.

iv also put the plants on 12/12 to flower the big bang but it hasn't shown sex yet >.< its been on 12/12 about 6 days now. not sure how long it takes but i think i still haven't light proofed 100%. im going to move to a cupboard if i grow after this cos it'll be easier to light proof, keep temperatures at a stable level and my pc box is a bit fked lol.

hardly any smell so far but i think that's cos the ONA block is getting rid of it. when i touch the buds forming on the jack they smell absolutely amazing, reminds me of when i started smoking bud. i cannot wait to smoke this stuff lol. been flowering just over 3 weeks too by the way.

i changed to 12/12 to flower the big bang and she's now flowering nicely. jack is looking great too, starting the fatten up quite a lot. been feeding biobizz bloom now since they both started flowering (1ml of nute to 250ml of water and started at 0.4ml to 250m raising every watering or two). humidity is getting up to 70 at night which im worried about since the ambient temps are getting a lot cooler now. worried about gettin bud rot : /

jack has been flowering for 6 weeks now (pics are from day 56 flowering) and big bang just over a week. nearly there on the jack now...:D

have pulled a couple of small tester buds from bottom which aren't getting a lot of light to try out the high. its pretty good and isnt really harsh to say i dried it with a hair dryer. very head high at the min tho.

ps. also stinks like f**k. i made a makeshift carbon scrubber. i got a bit of chicken wire curled up into a cylinder shape then wrapped in a sheet of carbon screen which are normally used for cooker hoods. taped this to back of my fan and it cuts the smell down a very small fraction. the ONA block doesn't seem to be doing anything either so iv ordered another. i wanna cut the jack soon cos of the smell but i want it to be a last resort since iv put all this effort in. 2 more weeks to go......

cheers and thanks for dropping in :lol: im glad if im inspiring people here. mines not really stealthy to look at since half of it is covered in gaffa tape and the upstairs of my house stinks of pot lol. but hey when someone comes round i just unplug and take into the loft in about 5 mins so it definitely has its advantages.

hey hey. i made a little mistake last night when i wrote my last post cos i was blazed from smoking those jack test buds lol. the jack has been growing for a total of 56 days and has been flowering for 5 weeks and 3 days (38 days) in that picture. 6weeks and 1 day as i type now though.

First, why did you choose to go with auto seeds? I have heard that you can't clone them, and therefore are in a situation where you have to buy and germinate new seeds for each grow.
Your fan setup, is the air intake at the top/back of the PC case, blowing across the plants? (with the air output at the bottom front? What cubic feet per minute ratings are the fans?)
Just curious as well are the fans running during no light periods? (maybe contributing to the humidity issue at night?)
How did you circuit wire the CFL? I have seen guys chop down the existing power supply unit and tap into that for both lamp power and for running fans off the PSU's 5 and 12 volt lines.

As for the odour, you may have more luck with odour absorbing crystals, I think they come in mesh bags that you can hang near the plant. I have heard of people using these in closet grows to control odours. I don't have a link for a good product so if anyone knows more about these crystals please let me know. I read a post some time ago about a closet grow and the guy used a crystal pack meant for pet odours and he said it worked great, hung it by his fan. I think they are rechargeable by placing outside in the sun for a few hours too. I don't have room for a carbon filter so I am looking into these as an alternative.

hey n welcome. i firsty chose to go with auto seeds cos it seems like less hassle to start with like not needing to light proof 100%. the big bang is not auto though now i figured out after i switched to 12/12 so i probs wont be using auto for my next grows if i choose to grow again. im not really fussed about cloning etc, its easier for me to just buy another seed for £5 or something then i can also try a different strain since im limited to 2 plants. i have no idea on the amount of air the fans pull (they are just 80mm pc fans btw), the bottom fan which is in the middle of the case brings air in then i have another pulling air out at the top of the case just behind my light and i have them running 24/7. as with the cfl i just bought a plug for it which fits directly into a normal plug socket (i posted a page or two ago what it looks like).

and ill have a look into those odor crystals. thanks for the idea :D ill let you know if i can find any myself. as for the odour at the min i'm just going to try keep people from coming round the next couple of weeks lol

it gets really humid when i have no heating on in the house at night so ill just try keep that on (also need to keep the window open in the room so plants can get a little fresh air)

I as well just started a pc grow I keep fans on 24/7 and spliced a 12v cord. psu is too bulky for me, any way ive been looking for those air odur crystals or anything else like that can anyone show me where to get these ? would they have them at walmart or some thing ? also I cant find aqua air stones?

I read another post somewhere about air stones and apparently "any" air stone will do, there do not appear to be any significant advantages of one brand over another, sorry I can't remember which forum I read that in, but it was an objective benchmarking. (lowering reservoir temperatures however will increase dissolved oxygen in the water if thats your objective).

As for the crystals, http://www.activatedcarbontrading.co.uk/8.html that should help, I have never used them before but aparently "Zeolite Crystals" is the search term you need to use.
Also, check out this thread https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/101248-best-diy-ez-walmart-carbon.html , very cool, I'm guessing that's sort of what the original poster has hobbled together. I might try this soon, maybe with Zeolite crystals AND activated charcoal together.

hey guys update time it is!!

total time is now on 69 days and 51 days flowering on the jack. i will probs cut her down in about 10-11 days. i ordered another ona block which seems to working a bit but i figured the plants seem to smell the most a few hours after watering. big bang has been flowering 3 weeks tomorrow and is looking dead healthy from the main cola down. smell is almost fresh pine on this baby.

plants are coming along great imo cant wait til harvest time gonna get soooo baked, the wait has been too long. yield is not going to be best, im taking a random guess at about 12grams for the jack dry too but i could be way off since this is my first grow and i dont know how much the plants will shrink to.

been feeding bottled water now too since i tested my ph from the tap and it was like 5.5-5.8 or something.

I'm also growing some big bang, mine smells quite earthy with a hint of sweetness, kind of like pears.
The LST job you've done looks great.

thanks guys, im dead proud of what iv achieved so far. its easier than i thought to grow though only probably cos its 2 small plants, i wouldnt be able to keep up with a room full lol. the lst job i just winged it, just tied bits down that needed to be done there's no real strategy i tried for it.

looking back on older pics too the jack is getting well fat and im guessing it will swell more in the next 10 days. should i carry on feeding her nutes? im feeding biobizz bloom and its certified organics. iv heard you can feed this stuff to the end. and the big bang is already getting quite frosty cant wait til that fattens up some.
