Ok my first update. It's been a long week we've lost a couple of friends, we've gained a couple friends. Here's what's going on, My long awaited and much anticipated Ktrain so far has not gone so well out of 3, 1 germinated (at least it's a female seed). The strongest seeds comming up have been the Sleesestack x skunk , Kushberry x skunk looking good and Alaskan ice is doing fine.
On Day 5 their starter plugs went into 8oz containers with 50/50 ff Light Warrior/Ocean Forest, Seems to be doing well. Day 7 had their first feeding 1/2 strength ff Big Bloom. Day eight, preparing to move into their new home. For christmas they've recieved a proper tent and a friend has let them borrow a 400w light setup. (we spoil them)

New to the family is (2) Spacequeen, (1) Kali hash, (1) White Rhino, (1) Blue Hash.
For the new additions I've just put seeds into 8oz container with light warrior. Just gave them a check and everybody has germinated, and it's only been a day!
that's all for now, thanks for looking.

The light is about 7 to 9 inches away. Temps are holding between 78.2 and 79.8

I did just tip a couple of cups to look for roots and I've found them. Now this raises a question. How long should you wait to get plants into larger containers? I see roots hitting the bottom of the cup is this the right time or do i wait till the roots have turned up and made a ball?

That's a 400w light, I'd have that light at least 15" away from little plants...but that's just me.

No idea...I only do one transplant during my grows when they are over 1', and yeah, the roots are usually all over the bottom, but not in a ball, and my pots are bigger than cups so...donno. But they sure don't like being restricted.

I thought the goal was to get the light as close as possible without burning or restricting airflow.
It is, pretty much...and with a 400w light you want it at least 15" away...this isn't a little toy light like you had before...this is a MH/HPS and will burn the shit out of things. I've got my 600w more than 15" away from full grown, flowering 4' tall plants...because it would burn them.

Hello,
Here's what I've got going on, I have one plant that I started a while ago, got my med card and started a real grow and figured i'd add this one in, but I believe my plant is maturing. I think it has pre flowers. which I'm not sure is good. See I've got one plant that is much larger than the others. My plan was to just let the large plant veg untill the others are ready to flower (Giving me one gigantic plant). Then change the cycle and there you have it. But, I think I'm hitting a road block. I think I've got pre flowers. Now every picture I've seen of a female calax has been a tear drop looking thing with 2 hairs comming out of it I've got some of these around the 6th or 7th internode. Is this supposed to happen during veg? if not, will I be able to leave this plant in veg for another 4 to 5 weeks?

Here's a lil history of this plant
It's been in veg for a while ...maby 6 or 7 weeks. it was started under a 200w cfl, moved to a temp. home under a portion of a dual 4' T5 for about 3 weeks. Now shes been back at home and went back under a 200w cfl for about a week then got upgraded to a tent and a 400w Mh. light, that's where I may have fucked up. In their temporary home they were on 18/6 as they've been back home they've been 24/0. I have had to leave the light on to keep the tent warm. I just installed a heater so hopefully that's solved. Now I'm ready to start giving them a night cycle.

Do you think just by changing the intensity and cycle (not spectrum) can induce flowering? comments? suggestions?

Well, all is good. I've had good growth in the last week just hoping it keeps up.

The Kushberry x Skunk and Sleestak x Skunk are all up around 4 inches and working on their 4th internode.

Alaskan Ice is a little shorter at 2.5" - 3" working on it's 3rd node. Looks healthy yet wirey in appearance, longer leafs.

Ktrain is also looking healthy but tiny at just over 2" and only 2 nodes !?! WTF.

Not much to say about the babies, Cali Hash, Blue Hash, Spacequeen and White Rhino. They all look good.

Hoping for a Ph/Ec Meter in the near future, anyone have any suggestions on brand/type/cost?

How are those girls doing? Any new measurements? I can't wait to see what Space Queen/Jill looks like...

Here we are nearly 3 weeks old.

Watered today. The measurement photos are before the water. Also, I labeled each plant so that I can easier track their progress. Here's the final line-up of the grow:
1. K-train 4"
2. Alaskan Ice 4.25"
3. Sleestak x Skunk 5"
4. Sleestak x Skunk 5.5"
5. Sleestak x Skunk 6"
6. Kushberry x Skunk 4.5"
7. Kushberry x Skunk 4.5"
8. Kali (or Cali?) Hash 2"
9. SpaceQueen 2"
10. White Rhino 2.5"
11. Blue Hash 2.25"
12. ???? 19"

Tonight we will get our first night peroid. I'm going to decrease the light .5 hrs per day untill we reach 18/6.
