2 Female Preflowers in 18/6. Keep going or switch to 12/12?

So I've been vegging 16 seedlings in soil for 8 weeks now on 18/6, and 2 are showing :hump:female preflowers:hump: and I haven't seen any male preflowers yet. I was wondering if I should keep the 2 of 16 in the veg area or move them to my flowering area for some 12/12 action. My goal was to establish a rotating harvest, so I'd like to clone some of them if I could.

If you want a rotating crop clone all the bottom ( 6 ) per plant and wait one month more for the mothers to get the stress out (2 weeks) and to get bigger, maybe even top her after 2 weeks. Then when you put her in flower (30 days from taking cuttings) you take clones from clones and wait 2 weeks and flower and repeat.

So it'll be alright to keep vegging the two that are already showing until they are cloneable and recover from the stress? I'm just afraid of topping when I'm getting preflowers at the top.

When a plant shows sex during veg it usually means that it has reached maturity and ready to produce beautiful nugs for you.

This is just my own "ghetto plantology" and I have no facts to back it up so please dont argue with me....you can do what you want. :)

If she wants to flower,,,,,,let her go into flowering :hump:.

Yea I was thinking of letting them go but it sure would be cool to clone them. But if it's already flowering, I just dunno if it's a good idea to clone. My other thought was to just make a rotating seedling crop. Start new seedlings every 6 weeks or so and have em ready for flower in cycles for a harvest every six weeks. I'm trying to cram as much in a tiny space as possible, so I was initially going for a SoG idea. I know SoG is normally done in hydro, but if i can rotate them the way I'm planning I think it might work.

If you are not in 12/12 she will not flower, thats just her showing you that she is mature, now the question is how large of a yeild would you like? The longer you wait (up to 6 months) the larger the yeild. If you flower her as soon as she is mature you will get a small yeild and if you flower her after a top/fim with out waiting for to de stress, well for starters you are wasting time in 12/12 and could have stress related problems.

Ok so I can keep vegging without hurting anything, that's good to know. I don't know if I want to top/fim since I'm cramming as many as I can into a 4'x4' space. I was aiming for just pruning the lower 6 inches or so (clones) and trying to lolipop them, but if i can manage to top/fim and still squeeze them in that would be great since it would up my yield.

At the very least I would fim them at 6 nodes high then after 2 weeks take everything below the fim for clones, but no more than 4-5 per plant at once so as not to over stress her. Yeah and if you really wanted you could veg them for a year.

LOL that baby is stoned, veg man veg, only better and more potent can happen if you Veg man Veg. Silly stoned baby. Peek a boo.

Well the biggest female so far is about a foot and a half tall, and I probably shouldn't go more than 3ft tall unless I LST or FIM like you're saying so I can get my HPS closer. Like I said, originally I wanted sog so I could have shorter plants and more penetration. The sog would work better with the clones though, so I think I may just clone these females after I top them.

If you want to keep your plants short, flower them asap. They will grow 2-3x their current size during flowering.

Also, don't keep cloning off of a clone from a clone etc. It just kills the potency.

If that's true, then I may as well just start seedlings and rotate them that way instead of cloning. I'd plant about 18 each 6 weeks in hopes for at least 8 females.

you keep one of those for a mother and clone it , you never have to deal with males again :bigjoint:

6 weeks is hardly enough to finish MOST strains. grown from seed plants will take 3-4 weeks JUST to MATURE (then chop males IF they are showing
YET!?!?!)...... that leaves 2 weeks of flowering :-(

clones are the age & SEX of their mother and can be rooted in a week or so and go straight to flowering.

the decision was clear for me :bigjoint:bongsmiliebongsmilie

No i didn't mean 6 weeks start to finish. The first two weeks are going to be in my clone box, the next 6 weeks in my veg box, then two 6 week cycles in my flowering room (total of 12 weeks of flowering). so that gives me 2+6+6+6 = 20 weeks from start to finish. I'm sorry it's hard to explain without showing you what i'm talking about.

But I'll just be planting new seeds or clones every six weeks (two weeks behind the veg box cycle) to keep em rotating.

i gotcha .... but like i was trying to point out
all the time spent growing from seed and sexing is WASTED

I might as well leave my outside lights on all day and nite.....
waste of time and money

Yea that's true. I'd like to rotate clones if I can, not only to save time but to not have to worry about males. I just don't want it to cut my potency down like that other guy said.

im not sure how much truth there is to that ... but it might come into play maybe by the clone of the clone of the clone......

BUT you have a mother plant from seed ... so your only taking a clone .... not a clone of a clone:leaf:

Well I got 5 females out of the 16 now. I may move all of them into flower except 1 or 2 good looking females and clone those.
