2 x 320W XL QB V2 R SPEC KIT vs the new 650R

I was planning on ordering two of these XL 320 kits for my 5 x 5 footprint, but then I saw the new 650r. It looks like it'd be close to the equivalent layout, and the prices are close, but would one be better than the other?

I would order 12 qb 132 and 2 of these drivers. You would have much better spread.
HLG-480H-C2100

And dim a little, that driver gives them a little more power than maximum.

I'm already going to be spending more than I want @ $1099, so it has to be one of these. A lot of stuff is out of stock, with the virus and all. I'm not seeing too much stuff in the kits section. The two I mentioned above are available.

I the description for the HLG 650R, it says that it could replace a double-ended 1000w HID, with just "6100 watts". Somehow, I think that's a type-o LOL!

For 3 kits of qb 132 you would spend 400$ and for the 2 drivers about 250$. So you could build the lamp for about $700. The maximum wattage would be 900 watts much higher than the 650R and the spread will also be better.

so how would i lay out 3 x QB132 over a 5 x 5 spot? Wouldn't I need four to make more of a square?

the qb 132 mesure 12"x9" you would arrange them in a 3 rows of 4. for a total of 12. If the geometry of the qb 132 was a square you would be right but its actually a rectangle.

Ah ha, I see. So a kit of four is $99, and I'd want 3 of those kits. Would I use something like the XL heatsink for each row of four?
