im from east coast usa i speak and write english and spanish... not dutch. i need some advice on what hotels and coffee shops speak english. i dont want to feel like i have no idea whats going on, i mean i know i will anyway just cause the culture shock but at least if they speak my language and we can communicate i should be golden.

so, riu'pers i need your suggestions! coffee shops? hotels? cool sites/art/architecture? bars? clubs? ladies?

its not THAT expensive dirty & life. i originally planned on going to cali for the first time to check out how it is out there with mj being so free and all. wanted to check out oaksterdam and see if could move out there and support myself with just growing. BUT, not yet. im a newb, less than a year growing, i have alot to learn. the cali mj scene is like the fucking major leagues, im not that proficient with my pitches yet lol, i have some command issues and need to develop that changeup lolol.
so i checked out amsterdam packages and it was like 300 more. so i was like fuck it, def worth the trip over cali. different country, different money, different weed, different ladies, different language, different architecture.... the list gos on and on! cant wait!!

most of the people in that section of europe speak english pretty willingly.. unlike say the french or the italians who are very unwilling to admit that they speak english, even though many of them do.. the dutch are extremely friendly, and not speaking dutch is not a hold back of any kind.. as soon as people see that you're american, they will simply speak to you in english..
when i left amsterdam, i had felt like such an american as i only speak english and most of the speak a good 2 or 3 languages easily.. i really do want to learn another language as i hate that crappy feeling of expecting everyone to speak english, the nice thing is though in amsterdam, people don't mind it very much and you'll get buy easily..
hotels are every where, i stayed on daamstraat, which runs right into the centrale station, and is a big road with tons of hotels in all on it with easy access to the red light district which starts right across the street, and dam square was a few blocks up the street from my hotel at the top of damstraat..
hotels are smallish and none have elevators and stairs in the entire city are super fucking steep, get used to walking a fuck ton as my room was on the 6th floor, lol.. transportation is very good in the city with the trams and most dutch ride bicycles.. you can rent one for several euros a day, which i recommend.. just pay attention to where you're riding the bike as some business districts bikes are off limits which i found out about after almost getting a damn ticket, lol.. there's tons of good coffee shops for sure.. abraxis i loved, blue bird, roker j, grey area, amnesia, and of course barneys are nice for breakfast and food, but not really my favorite shops...
here's a link for you..http://www.coffeeshop.freeuk.com/Map.html and i also loved this lil book they sold in most coffee shops called the smokers guide to amsterdam, and they also have a website well worth a read or two..
smoke tons of has... it's everywhere.. have fun, and wear a condom, lol..

Amsterdam is fun. I always get rooms in a hotel with an elevator, so I don't know why previous homeboy did not find one?

They speak english. That is why americans are 'tards. We speak only english.. In Europe, people speak 2+ languages usually with English being one. They speak better English than half of the assholes in my state.

I have fun at Abraxas and Der Rokerij. Then I go to other shops that have whichever strains I want to sample or buy seeds for... You can buy mushrooms in Smart Shops... Avoid anyone selling anything on the street.. except the ladies behind their windows with the red lights. You can sleep with two 19 year olds at the same time for 200Euros.. or choose whichever type you want.. It can be fun.
Don't forget to tour the heineken brewery and see some actual historical sites in the dam.
When you come home with seeds, sew them into cuffs on your pants or whatever...

forgot to mention to stay away from say the bulldog cafe.. they are every where and are pretty much the tourist trap coffee shop in amsterdam, if there is such a thing, imagine that, lol.. bud there is on the higher end price wise, and the lower end quality wise..
check out who won past cups for coffee store entry and try out that coffee shop.. the hash museum was awesome, anne franks house well worth a visit as in the van gogh museum.. the park is cool as well, i'm not even going to attempt to write that one out, lol..
if you're planning on bringing any goodies back with you, i'd suggest not flying in or out of amsterdam, but rather say cologn germany, and taking the train into amsterdam.. it's only a couple of hour ride, and cool to check out the landscape turn from german to dutch and windmills and water..
if not, flying in and out of amsterdam is fine..
you're going to get raped converting your money, get used to it as going out of the us the fucking dollar is a pos anymore, but to get the most bang for your buck, try to go to banks to convert your money and avoid exchange places on the streets and hotels as you'll get a much better exchange rate from the banks... you can also simply use say a mac card or a visa to get a better exchange rate as well..
if you want to call the us while over there, get a cheap international phone card from like verizon and use that, it will save you a fucking bundle..

that's about it for now i think.. if you have anymore direct questions, don't be afraid to ask, i'll try my best to help you out anyway i can..

Duuude, you go to the dam and eat mcds and kfc?
The dam is as exciting for food as it is for weed.

Try the local pannekoken -- like a giant pancake with whatever good stuff you want in it..
There are a bunch of Egyptian falafel shops - I go for the falafel as much as the weed.

get out and explore and ask the dude at the counter of your hotel where HE likes to eat for lunch.
this is a super multi-cultural city with any type of food you can imagine...
enjoy!
bon apetit
