20lbs CO2 in a week???

Hello all... new to CO2...

I'm going through 20lbs a week...

2'Wx7'Lx8'H closet with 2 sliding doors ...not air tight bed sheet over doors

800W HID

20lb tank / reg / atlas 2 controller (preset @ 1500)

no exhaust....getting hot in there

2 box fans in area...one up high with co2 tube on it and one other other side of area down low on floor

I believe that usage is not normal but can't understand if i'm not exhausting at all at this point why I'm going through so much

please help....

no, it'll all still leak into your adjacent rooms. you don't have a closed system at all. I'd just dial it down lower, put it on intermittent so it comes on once or twice per hour. let that invisible shit rain on em from above. have a fan on the floor kickin it straight back up.

No You Add c02 IN A Sealed Room Not A Vented room. Why are you running c02 in a closet just intake and exhaust the air and have plenty of c02 for your girls. Quit over complicating things.

it's not vented yet

I'm trying to seal it off
Why seal it off you don't need a small area like that sealed put a hole in ceiling. Hang a carbon filter run short ducting to. 6 inch fan to.blow into attic or up. It will remove the heat from room keep smells at bay and give roughly 500 ppm of c02 to plants and be done. The 500 ppm is normally what a house contains of ppm as that's what us as humans echale when we breathe

The warmer it is, the more co2 they use... That's why you can run slightly warmer temps in a
close-loop system if your monitoring your levels. I keep mine at 1500ppm also, and temps range
from 78-84f without showing signs of heat stress. If you would rather use less co2, keep temps
lower but be prepared for less vigorous growth... in my experience at least.

sealed off cuz I dont want the co2 to escape....wouldnt the carbon filter suck all the co2 out of the space making it use more co2...emptying the tank quicker

I sincerely hope you don't sleep anywhere near your garden...
go to sleep and won't wake up man.
I did CO2 for probably 2-3 yrs, and I have gotten better results with less hassle in a properly ventilated grow-room.
Not worth the hassle, too much water transpiration, too much heat... etc. etc.
Like I always have said, find a way to use co2 in a greenhouse, and that's where its at. but inside under artificial lighting? too damn hard to supply enough lumens without, the heat and humidity being an issue.

hey i am about to add CO2 to my system so i been working on this for awhile
1 the controller is crap your area is to small to warrent the use of the controller
your area only warrents a timer and a set release of Co2

https://www.hydroponics.net/learn/co2_calculator.asp
this calu will help u start .........set in your numbers then u can play with the release rate and amount it gives u the time it takes to getto 1500 and how long the tank will last

https://hydrofarm.com/resources/co2calc
this one has part of natural Co2 lvls so it refines the numbers for u from the first one

as for what to do ..........make a tub with a tarp or polywrap the plants sit in that the co2 fills that the extra overflows outs ....or go a good tent

just to give u a run tho .........i am in a tent my tent is natural in the 500ppm for co2 so i would only need to release enough for 1000ppm ......my area is 5x5x6 ......only need to release 0.2 cft for 45 mins to get lvls to 1500ppm .. looking at 34 days on a 20lb tank........to do that i need a timer not a controller ........controllers are ment for large area like 10x10x 8 big rooms

oh u need to check your regulator ........they have 2 out 0.2 to 2 cft release and 0.5 to 15 cft .......u want the 0.2 to 2 cft one for your area.........the other one is ment for larger rooms on 50lbs tanks

now the rest of it i have not gotten to work on so i can not tell u what is good or bad

Thanks for taking the time to reply everyone....

I agree with you about the controller and the timer.

So what I've done so far.... I added a timer...right now it's set for 15 on 45 off. .. might go to 15 on 30 off if seems it can handle it

I have my controller plugged into that...so once it gets to 1500 it stops...so they may not live in 1500 all the time but I'm thinking this will cover them for most of the hour.... will see how that works

I'm going to make a tarp tub (great idea) very soon

thanks again everyone!!!
