2700k question

Why do so few use the 2700k led chips? I'm going to order six vero 18 chips next week and seen the 2700k while looking at the 3000k & the 3500k.

It's the least efficient chip available. A bit too much red, not enough blue imo. Causes stretching in tomatoes, bolting with herbs.

I would follow GG's current grow,he's using 3000k and 4000k over different areas. The 4000k seems to have more tricomb production but may induce more foxtailing,maybe 3500k is the sweet spot. We have lots of people trying different set ups.

I used some 4000k and they rocked, super great tricomb's, nice compact plants. Plus the 4000k is balanced enough that it can be used for both Veg and Flowering.

Mixed 3000/3750k here.

I use 3500k in one tent and 3000k in 2 other tents, and have no clue which performs better. I have a feeling it doesn't really matter as much as we think as long as there isn't a crazy amount of blue. (it would be great to see someone experiment with a 5000k 70cri from start to finish to see if it's really not good for flowering. What if we're actually missing out?)

I'm using 4 x 5000k and 8 x 2700k vero18 @1400ma in a 1mX1m area the plants finished veg yesterday and look amazing if anything the growth was very compact no stretch at all I ended up moving the light 3ft above the canopy so they would stretch

I'm wondering if there is any beneficent to doing it like this as opposed to shooting for a 'middle of the road' spectrum.

Dunno bro time will tell, but so far this grow is smashing my last in every way which was 4x cxa3590 3000k @1400ma BB bin

thanks everybody, i just knew i never seen many 2700k on the led side. i have always ran a mix if lights and have talked to churchhaze on this project. captainmorgan i have watch most of your grows dude you got the green thumb. nice plants camandcandice.

i'm leaning to the 3000k for this project. the first round i'll use it as veg and bloom, but by the time it's done i'll have another setup for veg. i'm down sizing so my new space will be a upright freezer. it's 24" wide 19" deep 54" high if i remember right. i thought about a mix of 3000k and 3500k but with 6 cobs i think i'll be better with all the same.

Seem like another one of those hippy myths to me. All the research I've seen, says cool white is not optimal for anything but human vision.

And I imagine it came straight from the CFL Buyers, (make profit on you) Club.

This really opened my eyes. Science, not myth.
