I decidedto check out your grow since you visited mine. Looks good! I wish I had contacts that could get the kind of pot everyone on here seems to be smoking. Why are you not wanting to use nirvana again? To many males? Good luck to you, you seem to have it all under control. Thanks for stopping by my thread and giving input. I'll be watching, I'm interested in how the GWS grows as I had thought about ordering some seeds and that was one that I had thought about....

I grew GWS last time, and have nothing but good things to say about it. It is very hardy, has great vigor, and produces big, fat, resiny buds. I have a lot of faith in Greenhouse seed co, even though Arjan can be a little bit of a dick in public.

About Nirvana, I read time and time again that their seeds were not great. I thought it was just snobbery, and it seems like "elite genetics" is a hot buzzword for a lot of growers. However, I now see the difference. The vigor on these AIs is terrible. The GWS is almost a month behind them, and is just a node or two behind. Also, I seem to have three different phenotypes in 5 plants. That's pretty silly. My Great White Shark plants have all looked identical. They all have overlapping leaves and the "Shark Tooth Edges" on fan leaves.

Also.... This is the thing that really got me angry in the first place. My Aurora Indicas seem to be Sativa dominant. They are supposed to be 100% Indica. I think that Nirvana often switches out with whatever seeds they feel are best. It's just like when we see people having to take "Top44", a theoretically 44-day strain, to the day 70 mark and beyond.

I also read somewhere that Nirvana only has two plants that it uses in breeding. A skunk male and a "Masterkush" male. If that is true, then all of their seeds are going to be pretty similar.

All in all, I think that from now on, I am always going to shell out a few extra dollars for the good shit. Unless things change drastically in flowering (which is not likely with this ridiculous internodal spacing) Nirvana is dead to me.

hey s-town whats goin on?? sorry to hear about nirvana for you. but its good to me as i was sorta leaning towards buying some of their seeds but you sold me to pass them buy and spend the extra bucks on good genetics. you can never go wrong with good genetics. i've only grown bagseed so every sprout is a mystery, i hope to get some good genetics soon. what breeder or seed company do you usually go with?

Damn yea very sorry to hear about Nirvana. Where did you read(or hear?) about them having only two types of plants?

I think they are a pretty reputible business, and I now made 2 orders with them, each with great results.

Damn looks like youve been having some feline trouble, I have a cat and never pay attention to him, I better get on that. You look like your coming back though and thats all that counts.

Btw- That sour patch kidz stuff looks narley.

I will update soon. The reason I have been holding out is that I might move very soon. If I do, I will have a big glorious space to grow. If I do move, I will have a place to move mothers (actually, I will flower these bitches large while I make mothers of the clones.) Even if not, I promise I will give some pic updates soon. I am holding out because I might get the set-up of my dreams. So, I will probably know by Monday. If I can get a new place (I will be able to [theoretically] move immediately, as I am thinking of renting another house that belongs to my landlord. Either way, I promise I will give you a good show. If I move, I will give you a beautiful show. I hope I do.

P.S. By the way, the babies are looking gorgeous. I'll share soon. Also, I picked up a bottle of Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow, as I needed a good organic Nitrogen supplement. N would not have been a big problem if my plants were in bigger pots, but I have kept them in limbo for a bit. Regardless (or as my best friend would say... Irregardless haha) things will all come together soon. LET US HOPE THAT MY GIRLFRIEND IS DOWN WITH THE NEW PLACE!!! Then, we can grow trees!!!!

Great news for you..... Hope it all goes your way. I'm still watching. I just put 13 bagseed sprouts in the flower room and added the charcoal filter last night. I'm trying to sex the girls and revert them back to veg. Filter made a huge dif on the smell..... Keep us posted...

never got the aurora indica from nirvana but i did get some big bud which i've had for quite awhile now. just got around to planting two of them and both germinated and grew to be females. no problems at all though the seeds looked less than impressive the plants are just fine. i know two seeds don't mean much statistically speaking but thought i'd throw my limited experience in there.

Alright, this isn't going to be a proper update, but I repotted some of my plants the other day, and thought I would show them off. And actually, after I wrote that sentence, I went down for a couple more pics. So, here they are. I know this is all boring right now, but I promise the flowering will come soon, and be glorious. I got the new house (so I am moving in about 2 weeks) and plan to flower them under 1000 watts of HPS. I am expecting a grow tent (It looks like a hydro hut deluxe [the fucking big hydrohut] but is not branded) in the mail sometime next week. I plan to flower these girls and take a few clones for future mothers. So, there will be more veg time. At least 2 weeks more. I may go even a couple of weeks longer. I want these bitches to be trees.

First, I said earlier that my mutant twin showed some fem preflowers. i thought I would get a shot of that.

preflowers.jpg

Also, I repotted all of the plants besides the SD, which will be getting a bigger pot very soon. These are the roots of the other AI.

roots.jpg

I also promised that I would show some pics of my pathetic clones. I have a very hard time with my current set-up with clones, as they bake under the HID light, and I don't have anywhere else to put them. I took my best 4 from each plant and put them in cups. They were in peat pots. I have them marked as to which plant they came from. All four from one look good. Two of the others will die. So I will have 4 from one and 2 from the other. I hope the 4 is the fem, if either are.

clones.jpg

Oh, and here is a little pic of the mutant that I took the other day when transplanting. I think she is my favorite plant.

mutant.jpg

Now, a little pic of the LST I have been performing on the other AI. It looks a little ridiculous.

LST.jpg

And finally, here is a little shot of my 4 children. At least 3 of them are Female. The LST'd one is the only one that is holding out on showing sex. I keep wanting to call it one way or the other, but it's not quite time yet.

family.jpg

So, there you have it.

Oh, and about the info about Nirvana, I can't recall the source. I remember that it was from someone who had compiled a master strain guide. I think if you look up some strain guides, you can find the answers. Also, I didn't mean that they only have two kinds of seeds. I meant that they only have two breeding males. Therefore, they grow out other people's genetics (White Widow, AK-47, and all of the other plants that they sell) and pollinate the best females with pollen from their two studs. This gives them decent results and good consistency for some breeds (I hope), but would leave others inbred if they share a similar lineage.

Bottom line is... My Aurora Indica is Sativa Dominant. It is leggy, and has thinner leaves than my Sour Diesel.

Thanks for reading! I promise that it will get really exciting soon. I am shopping around for 1000 watters, and have a closet in the new house (in the new grow room) for clones. I will finally have the ability to set something beautiful up.

thanks for the update s-town - bet you're looking forward to your new lights. I like the start of LST - but it sure is hard to make it look cool until they grow a bit

It is funny you said that about Arjan. he can be a little off in person. I though it was me but I am glad that some one else noticed it also. I have a bone to pick with Greenhouse. I brought 5 ww fems and I have tried and I cant get any to sprout. I have 2 left. I will speak to him in person about my beans. We will see what he says.

Thanks for all the kind comments, guys. exarmy, is that an AI? That looks pretty gorgeous. I am getting really excited about the AIs, actually. They aren't what I expected, but I prefer a Sativa dominant plant anyway. I will have all the indica I need with the GWS.

So, I ended up not moving due to a series of misunderstandings. I did, however end up buying a ridiculously large grow tent. It looks and acts like a Hydrohut Deluxe, but is generically branded. I got it so cheap it is sickening.

tent.jpg

Inside, it looks like this. I am only using one side of it at this time. You can see all of my little ladies in here. I also have some spindly clones in there that will probably be thrown out.

family.jpg

I decided to pull out my two favorite children for some better pics. Here they are, if you care to have a look. First, we have my two-headed lady. I promised myself when I started growing that I wouldn't name my plants; but I couldn't help it. I call her Sheila. She is my favorite of all the plants. She is one of the Aurora Indicas.

sheila.jpg

I also pulled out the GWS, as it is becoming a glorious beast.

GWS.jpg

I am still vegging under 400W of HPS. I am entertaining the idea of going big though. I am very seriously considering cutting up clones for a SOG. I am buying a 1000W very soon. I may even buy two. The only reason I haven't done it yet is because Sam (my Uncle and yours) gave me a big shafting on the 15th of last month. Taxes are making me a very poor man for a while. If I do go through with this, I will probably take 32 clones for a big, fat SOG. All things considered, I probably have another solid month of veg.

Thanks for checking out my grow, and I hope all of you are enjoying it. I am still growing organically (within reason) and plan to continue.
