3 weeks into veg. how do they look.

I keep a spare pot of whichever one my plant is currently in. Then just take your 5g pot fill it with some soil. Then take your smaller pot and put it in the 5g and continue filling with dirt, this will make a mold. Make sure you compensate for the height difference. Remove the spare pot and you have the perfect shape to transplant your plant. Spray the inside of the mold/soil of the 5g pot before you actually transplant. After transplant, water. Donzo. They are CFLs he is using, they are pretty effective I think, because you can layer them around the plant, giving better light penetration underneath, rather then having 1 HPS sitting above it, I am running 18 CFLs with 3 plants myself

Here is a pic of what I got going right now, in the process of rebuilding my box so this is the temporary setup, when i get finished, I will have 10x 100w"23w" CFLs on the top of the box, and I am drilling in 3x 100w"23w" CFLs on each side "Left Back Right" So each side will have 3 bulbs in a line going down in the middle of it... Total Cost: "$25 for Wood Supplies, $30 in Light Bulbs "We have them $6 for 5, with tax is about $30 for the light bulbs, Light wiring supplies totaled $40. Total Cost: $95, Will supply: 437Watts of Actual Power, 34,200 Lumens... Also the bulbs are mixed between 2700k / 5500k / 6500k, if you see the one in front is a 5500k, the one in the bottom right is a 2700k. giving me a full spectrum of light.

Yep just the lights of America t8 shop light -- one warm bulb, one cool bulb.

Ya. I have a big light that is 200w dual spectrum light by its self. Then I'm adding 24 more 23w mixed 2700/5500 Witch is a total of 750w of cfl's. I'll put a couple pics up in a little bit.

Huh, I've just started growing hydro again after about 10 years and I'm loving the fact that growers these days are getting great results from every day gear thats available not just at (expensive) hydro stores.

I always went by the rule that when the branches/sets start staggering (not just growing directly opposite each other) then the plant was ready to go to flower.

Doesnt mean you can't keep vegging when you see it though

I'd give you a go on keeping them alive, a minor plus for keeping them healthy, and a major minus for pussing out and going with CFL.

They r starting to do that but I would like to get a little taller and would like to get the most bud i can in the end. So I'll veg for a a few more weeks.

It's not that I'm pussing out with cfl's. It's just a lot cheaper right now. I will be switching my light set up after my first couple grows.
