Thanks man, I'm glad to hear that you don't think there's a problem. But, on thwe other hand, I'm going to have to disagree with you, on the "praying for light" theory. I've been told that it indicates vigor, and health, showing that the plants are growing full-steam, absorbing/processing as much light as possible. I'm not 100% positive on that, but, it was info given to me by a very experienced grower. Sounds logical, doesn't it? I know they're not struggling due to low light intenstity. I'm getting a little over 5,000 lumens, measured with a light meter, just below the tops.
I have no problem with people that disagree with me. Im no PRO (yet lol) i have had both scenarios happen and so far in the experiences that i have had the ones that were more "relaxed" seemed to yield better results. And i dont mean just amount of bud i mean quality too!.

But i have not had this happen enough times to make a solid judgement.

LIke i said at the moment its just my personal preference.

Hey Folks

Well here is another update of the ROCKLOCK and the DNA Sour Cream Mother and also the Nirvana PPP mother.

The Rocklock as you can see seems to be doing better now that the pH has been controlled. One thing i will mention is that i am not going to grow in this medium ever again unless i go Hydro. It is far to complex for hand watering so be warned all those that feel like trying it lol.

The pictures are as follows

Pic 1,2 and 3 are the rocklock just before lights on.

Picture 4 is the Nirvana PPP mother

Picture 5 is the DNA sour cream mother

and picture 6 is the both mothers together.

PPP to the left and DNA to the right.

Currently the mothers are having an EC0.6 of IONIC COCO GROW and the DNA seems to have a little burning beginning on the tips. So the DNA will be getting plain water for the next few waterings.

Where as the PPP is showing signs of N deficiency purple starting on the stems of the leaves. So the PPP will get up'd to an EC0.8 next feeding of the IONIC COCO GROW.

Once i am able to clone these girls their daughters will get CANNA COCO A+B during their veg time and then during flowering the same along with some CANNA PK13/14.

I have made this decision based on the fact that my current nutes are making my plants too YELLOW once they finish flowering.

Anyway hope you all enjoy the pics.

Hey Folks

Well 2 days has passed since i updated about the mothers i am growing.

You will not believe the difference in the PPP. Check that big bitch out lol.

The other pics are of the DNA sour cream. You can see the burning that started on her first blade leaves nothing too bad and it has now stopped.

Currently the PPP is running at an EC strength of 0.8 and the purpling stems are changing back to a healthy green. I will now see how she performs under this strength of nutes.

The DNA is currently only getting a EC of 0.4 which she seems to be liking so i will now have to keep these 2 plants on different strengths for the time being.

Enjoy

Hey Folks

Well i figured i would update you all on the rocklock and the Mothers.

as you can see the rocklock is beginning to fill out now and i believe there is maybe 2 weeks left for her but we will see. As for feeding this little beauty at the moment she is having around 1/2 litre of 1.4 feed approx every 4hours and i am having to hand feed this as she seems to be doing better with this kind of schedule.

Anyway the other pics are of the mothers.

Just check out the foliage on the NIRVANA PPP this plant is growing and as its growing its screaming FEED ME YOU DUMB F*CK lol FEED ME.

Slight purpling on the stems but no yellowing yet so on her last feed a few days ago she had an EC0.8 and today i have given her an EC1.0 of my coco Grow.

Just check out the Cotelydons on pic number 8 unreal!!! THese things are almost an inch long!

Enjoy

How long jon till you [inch out the top? You did say when you get two good nodes, how long do you think that will be from when you 1st germed the seeds. Am definately following this grow closely as I will doing a mother once ive harvested my berry's

Hey Jayme.

I will be transplanting into 1 litre air pots this weekend and then maybe middle of next week top her above the 2nd true node. So you dont count the cotelydons then you start counting set of leaves number1 (usually 1 bladed) Set of leaves Number2 (usually 3 bladed) cut the top off and try rooting the top.

It will have been maybe 4 weeks by the end of next week.

I wont be documenting this entire grow of mothers. THis is mainly for me now. Once the ROCKLOCK is finished and harvested i pretty much wont be doing many threads on here just helping people out and taking care of my girls.

I might pop up with the odd helpfull article though or maybe a look at my room now kinda thread lol

Rooting the top will be kinda hard wont it. Not got a lot of area to be working with i should think. But i suppose anythings worth a go. Will look forward to picking your brains as my grow, err grows. lol

The top that i cut off is going to be around 3-5nodes in length about 4inches of plant. lol im already up to 6nodes on the PPP she's just pissing all over the DNA sour cream (which by the way only like really weak ass nutes.) im running the EC on the sour cream last time at 0.8 and she's burning a little on the bottoms so she may only get topped when she's strong enough. SO im backing down to EC0.5 next feed.

Right, sorry I must sound like a twat, i thought you waited till you had 2 nodes then then pinched out the tip. Sounds like your waiting for 7 nodes then cutting the stem at about two nodes up. So you will effectively be cutting the plant in half. Or have i got this seriously wrong. (would not suprise me)

Whe you had your last grow you had pics where you pinched out the tops. So how comes you doing it this way. Is it better? Or is it a case of getting two plants for one???

ITs not that.

Where i topped the plants earlier in this thread was designed to only develop 2 main colas.

I am letting the plant get stronger and taller so that i CAN clone the top and as you say get 2 plants for one.

But by topping at 2 nodes but allowing it to grow to 6-7 the new growth coming from around those first few nodes take the lead role and develop 4 mains. This way i have 4 mains to keep trim by cloning. Hopefully this will help me to keep a smaller plant as i dont want to outgrow my box too soon.

So the bottom two nodes will be a plant to flower with what will be 4 main colas. The top few nodes will be the clone that will be your mother?

NO NO NO NO lol

Where i top the plant it will give me 4 main shoots that all develop new growth that can be cloned. This is going to be my mother. The cloned top will be just a bonus!!

Once the orginal 2 node high topped plant has either outgrown the box or had her day for cloning then i shall be keeping 2 clones from the topped plant as 1st generation mothers so that the original can go into flower and get me something off her.
