4 weeks flush

I grow in soli using organic nutes only I know I don't have to flush but my last grow I flushed one plant for 3 weeks and other one I didn't flush at all. And maybe it is coincidence but flushed plant taste much nicer and burns nicer.

Last feeding I burned a bit so instead of waiting a week I flushed today, and it is end of week 7 so it might be between 2 -4 weeks to end (im growing those strains first time I can see first amber trichomes on all of them, highest number on Blue Cheese, and bearly any on Northern Lights), a bit late to reintroduce feeding since they only drink once a week (so then I will be left with barely 2 weeks flush and I want to do at least 3, therefore can I flush for 4 weeks? Have anyone tried it?

EDIT: By flush I mean just pure water not excessive flooding the medium. Just like 10% run off. I gave it a bit more today since I overfed ( 5-6 l each, when normally they drink around 3 l). So question should be can I water with pure tap water only fro 4 weeks without starving them to dead?

Personally I wouldn't do it. Those plants are doing so much work right now trying to grow buds. Starving them for nutes at a time like this would be a shame. Why don't you try cutting your feed strength in half if you don't want to feed as heavy. Many nutrient manufactures recommend lowering the levels the last couple weeks.

I would also suggest that you research and try to perfect your drying and curing process to help ensure a quality end product that burns clean and smooth.

On the last grow were the plants both the same strain? The one you flushed vs the one you didn't?

This is exactly what I am worrying about starving them too much and affecting yield. Maybe I will just go for 3 weeks flush and at worst case scenario it will be early harvest, week 10 harvest with 8-9 weeks strains should be ok, at best it will be week earlier then it should. I mean White Russian will be ready for sure, same probably with Blue Cheese, it is Northern Lights I am worried about last time she needed about 11-12 weeks and I prefer her very amber for my insomnia, on White Russian and Blue Cheese I noticed first amber about week ago so 2-3 weeks max 4 and they will be perfect but on Northern Lights (Nirvana) I noticed first yesterday. Or maybe 3 weeks just water , then harvest 2 and leave 1 as an experiment for 4 weeks, therefore at worst I will affect badly one plant.

They were 2 different strains, homegrown fantaseeds Northern Lights (flushed) and GHS Jack Herer (not flushed). I hang them for 3 days in wardrobe then I cured them in glass jars, so they were treated almost exactly the same still one is waaaaayyyy better.

it is mostly confirmation bias that made the plant taste better. I would not flush especially an organic grow. There are multiple other variables (mainly strain.... which you stated was different) that can effect burn and taste, a 4 week or even a 3 week flush can greatly decrease your yields.

If you really want to see if there is a difference, then experiment your self but you need controls. Should be same strain and preferably clones of the same plant. You need to grow, feed, and light exactly the same through out and the only difference being the pre harvest flush. Dry and cure must be exactly the same, THEN you can state there is a potential difference if taste and burn. Even then you should have multiple people do blind taste tests... Evem then you would have the do this multiple times with multiple different strains to prove it is not strain based since that is still a variable...

god if if I had the time you know for sure I would be running experiments like this to try to bust/prove these weed myths. WEEDBUSTERS!

I think Sadface hit the nail on the head. I was thinking about the exact same thing.

I think you might be right it might be strain etc. still for old times sake I will do at least 2 weeks and possibly experiment on 1 plant just for science :D But again to make it science I would need clones and everything the same, that is impossible while growing inside wardrobe. I got one more week to think about it before watering I will see trichomes and all and I will decide then. So far plan is for 2 weeks and faster harvest but I am ready to adapt it.

what sadface said. I wouldnt even flush in organics but thats your call. I dont even flush for a full 2 weeks in a non organic soil grow just because of the effect it would have on the yield. Last weeks very important to feed the buds what you can get away with. I just bring the nutes right down to a third in the second to last week, water after every feed then the last week or 9 days flush properly and let dry for 3 4 days before 2 days dark and chop.

Don't flush bro.
It certainly can improve burn, by correcting grower error. The cure is key, overfeeding makes the plant work much harder and take longer to cure and break down all the chlorophyll etc.
Flushing will not improve a properly grown plant.
