$500 open rack grow

Fixing to make a major change. On the advice of a friend, I sent out some emails to companies explaining I was a HPS user and wanted to make a change to LED. I was looking for any tester programs or even a nice discount. I even sent them a link to this grow. I really didnt think anyone would even reply. Several did try to sell me lights way over my budget and with no discounts and ridiculously high shipping on top but a lady contacted me and we talked back and forth late night every night for 10 days asking who the big players were on the North American market and what kind of promotions and advertising they did. She also told me of the names of companies that they build lights for. She said she liked my enthusiasm and ingenuity of my current setup (really?) and the fact that I was not a professional grower. She offered me a 50% discount If I would do grow journals (and some other stuff that I will share later) Im not sharing the brand just yet. Im putting a 5 x 5 tent together right now for the next grow.

I've read that you shouldn't change out lighting sources in mid grow. And every time I make a mistake that affects my plants I go into panic mode. So Im sitting here looking at it and eagerly wanting to hang it over my plants. Its quite large for only 4 bars. Should I go ahead and hang it or just wait until this grow is over which will be quite some time as these are long-flowering plants and I just put them in flower a two weeks ago. Or since they were just flipped two weeks ago would this be the time to make the change? The Ole Lady is pressuring me since our electricity bill has jumped up 60%

I appreciate any suggestions!

Day 14 of Flower. New Light installed. Hooked it up turned it on...nothing. Im going what the hell check connections and then I realized while I was hanging it I had heard a little click. It was the Timer kicking off. So I turned it on manually adjusted it down to about 70% and left it a little high and will adjust tomorrow. Nice big light I hope it does as well as advertised.

My wife's first Cannabis grow. She is the Queen of Patio Flowers/Plants. (Dare me to post pics...lol) I got 2 Auto seeds I got as freebies in a order from Seedsman. Gorilla Glue #4 and Zkittlez. So I donated them to her for her first grow. I've got my photos growing inside she has her's autos outside. I hope they dont get ruined, the idiot next door is making seeds but he is east of me so the wind blows his direction. Hard to get a good idea of size in the photo but they are 44 days old and planted side by side in a 20 gallon planter in her own soil mix of whatever she plants the 80-90 plants currently on our deck in. Please give her a like for taking the plunge and doing her first grow by herself. Sorry not the best pic but the green from Cannas, Bananna trees and morning glories create green camouflage in the photo. The planter is too big for me to pick up and move to get a clear photo. Matter of fact no one has ever seen them that has walked by them but get within 5-6 feet of them and you can smell them. Very strong smelling strains!

5 1/2 weeks into flower? But they are putting a little weight. Upped feeding schedule will no ill affects. I may have been underfeeding them a little. Should be nice in another 8-12 weeks. Wanting to get started on the next 6 plants but going to have to wait at least another 4-6 weeks until these get closer to harvest.

Im having fits determining how close they are. As the seeds were given to me I dont know what manufacturer they came from. Maui Wowie (that beautiful red haired girl) Thailand and Durban Poison (smells soooo good)

I have a jewelers loup and a one of those electronic microscopes that you plug into your phone (when it works) but I have yet to see any trichs anywhere close to amber.

But Im soooo ready to drop seeds and get on to the next one Im about to pee my pants ;) Thanks for the likes guys!

No Im not set up for clones yet...but I will as soon as I get this new tent set up. Growing on open racks everything has to stay on the same light cycle in the room. Im doing the all Anesia grow next so I will definetely be taking clones

That light did pretty good considering no walls to bounce light.
It did bounce a little off the back wall. They were started under HPS until a week or so after flower when I switched over to LED. I was totally impressed by that 400w LED 5x5 I have an even bigger one now still in a box but Im almost thinking I want to put the 400w in the new tent when I put it together since Im familiar with the height and settings above the canopy. It never got within 24-26 inches from the tallest plant. Im an affiliate dealer for that company but I just sell to friends, family and to local growers.

I want to grow a mother this year and that 400 is a little overkill but I have some smaller lights. There are so many things I want to do...my list is long...lol

This one is done. 1 Durban Poison, 2 Thai, 3 Maui. All in cure right now. (12) 32oz Mason Jars. Dont own any scales. Over all it was a great learning experience, many mistakes including a big one at the end in letting 5 of these get way too dry before jarring. Did save the Durban!

On to the next. My brand new 5 x 5 Ac Infinity tent and equip has arrived and stacked in boxes. A pocket full of 6 Anesia seed strains led by Captain Future, Bola Mintz and a few more of their friends for the next grow journal. Dropping seeds in a few days. Stay tuned for "All Anesia Grow Journal" next.
