[h=1]Maryland boy, 6, suspended from school for making gun gesture with hand and saying ‘pow’[/h] [h=2]The suspension from the school in Silver Spring came a week after a gunman stormed Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., killing 26. Said an attorney: ‘What they're doing is looking at the worst possible interpretation of a young, naive 6-year-old.’[/h]

WTF... we allow it.. they will do it..

chop his hand off!! chop ALL their hands off... wtf...

I'm guessing it wasn't really the 6 year old handgun. More irresponsible gun owners. Pisses me off that people don't take care of their arms and that they aren't teaching their children how to respect the weapon.

When I first met my wife she had 2 boys ages 3-5.. they were not allowed to play with toy guns.. this ended the day I showed her my hand pointed like a gun.. told her.. they are still playing guns... even w.o the toy...

Kids are going to do what they think is fun.. before guns.. kids used swords.. rocks.. lightsabers.. etc..

I kept my "guns" holstered in my front pants.. till the day the cop asked me what I was doing.. he didn't understand about handgun danger either...

I look at my friends kids and am amazed. I was given my first .22 long barrel when I was 6. I was taught how to properly carry it depending on how I was walking with an adult, how to clean it and how to aim and shoot. It was different times, we didn't have the violence on television and video games we do now. I'm not blaming those for the degradation of society but when you couple those influences with a lack of parenting, due to either laziness or kids knowing their parents can't really do much to them you start to get what we have going on. Atleast that's my opinion.

Ditto... Never had a gun as a kid.. but I was into martial arts back in CT and purchased my fair share of weapons from NY.. Dad gave me a knife about age 12 he taught me the correct carving and handling methods..and how to sharpen them.. I asked for a chainsaw age 13.. got a dull hatchet but dad forgot he taught me sharpening..

I feared (and still do) my folks.. would never have thought about taking a knife to school as weapon.. it was a tool.. kinda like the Idiots at the school above.

Will I give my son age 13 a knife.. no.. he has shown little to no interest when I am carving.. I have allowed him to use them while I am there..

years later still love wood carving and own and entire flexcut setup..

pretty soon at this rate, we will no longer have the privelage of being able to flip the bird at anyone. The gun control sensitivity needs controlling now!<-As screwy as it looks people have to draw a line to what is appropriately pursueable.

Actually, after looking through it and catching up on the happenings with that case... it appears the district changed their minds and have since let him retain his name. Still doesn't change what they tried to do. Some people...
