Where are you finding the ceramic hps bulbs ? I can only find the full systems like you said they want you to buy the gold series... I can’t see why the CHPS wouldn’t fire on a galaxy?

I’m not familiar with this company but this link was at the top of google when I searched.

10% off code available too. Might have to look into this. I am real slow to make changes in my garden usually. Lol.

This is where I’m going to run into problems! Living in Vermont my plant count is 2 flowering 4 veg. So I’m trying to maximize my two flowering plants. I’m leaning towards a double ended 1000 watt dimmed to 750 in a 4x4. Or the 630 watt cmh.
I'd go 630. I've ran one and was happy with it.

A 630 in a 3x3 with co2 overkill ?
3x3? I thought the question was 4x4?
Even 4x4 you could do just fine with a single 315.
If your running co2 though in a 4x4 than you almost have to go 630, 315 wouldn't be enough light to make the co2 worth using.

Thought I'd jump in here because I just took down my 600W MH/HPS and installed 2 315 fixtures. I plan to add some UV when the LEDs arrive to try and make up for the lower UV. I went with 2 units instead of a 630 for a couple of reasons but mainly for light distribution.

It's damn bright. 2x315 CMH definitely has more lumens at the plant than a single 600w MH did. I plan to run each one for 10 hours opposite the other one for a 20/4 veg and to help control heat. For flower I plan to use both at the same time.

Posted this in another thread too but here's a pic of the lights-

I have been using Two 315's for a few grows now in my 4 x 4, I love them.
I do stacked 315's for my vertical grows and side by side with the horizontal grows. A few grows ago I put an Cal Light Works SS400 LED between the 315's, liked the results, it was mainly for the two UV lamps that come with the SS400.
Will be starting a new grow next month, 5 plants vertical on screens with the two 315's stacked. Will be Big Buddha Cheese fem seeds.

What would be the equivalent Watts for the 600 CMH compared to the 600 HPS?

It’s a CHPS and it is a direct replacement with a better spectrum according to Hortilux. And growers house tested it and determined it is very close in usable plant light to the 600 super hps as well.

I have heard that a 315W puts out about 500W's. Not sure that it is fact but I do know it puts out a shit load more light that my 400W HPS.

Well it covers a little less area than my 600 and I average 20 -24 oz for a few years in a 3.5x3.5’ -4’x4’ area with them.

The test I did with the 315 got 15 oz. and gave looser lowers where I’m used to hard nugs.

Combined they killed in my room. I plan to rebuild using both kinds of bulbs.

I just switched from a hortilux 315 cmh to their Ceramic HPS, and while it puts off a lot of heat (not a bad thing in my tent that’s located in my outdoor shed) my girl is loving all that red, FR and more balanced spectrum.
